Ancient Secrets of the Kama Sutra (1995)

Note: I posted this originally as Harem Girls; bootyfreak noticed that it was not Harem Girls, but instead was Ancient Secrets of the Kama Sutra. I did the work some time ago and I had some problems getting the audio in sync (but AFAIK, the audio is fine in this version).
I've applied some picture filters.

Assuming this is your own upscale, not sure why you are going for such ridiculous resolutions from what's likely to be from an original DVD. Picture really isn't going to get any better by going so high especially with H264 encoding, such low bitrate and double the fps.......
Anything at 720 or above should now be using the more efficient H265 codec for approximately half the file size for comparable picture quality to H264. Also that means changing the colourspace from DVD REC-601 (for CRT) to REC-709 which is superior for anything since screen wise.

Considering the 4k above I I tried to improve on the process as it looked very "soft and not really worth that kind of upscale.
First I compared the 4k and the DVD images from Media Player side by side.

Clearly the 4k is a clearer picture so I then De-interlaced first with Hybrid at lossless before using Topaz VEAI to upscale to 1080P. The Proteus model has a nasty habit of denoising excessively where skin is concerned so I usually use the GIAI CG model but decided to give the Proteus a chance but added grain so skin wasn't completely crushed.

In hindsight a bit less detail recovery would probably have dropped the sharpness on the edges but this was only a quick test run.
Below then is the 4k next to the 1080 again in Media player for comparison.

This was more about detail for upscaling rather than colour correction. To me it really isn't going to get any better going to a higher resolution and there's more detail recovered (hope it shows). I would then drop it into Davinci Resolve for some colour correction but not today. Final bitrate was 9.5 Mb/s @ 29.97 fps with H265.
