k2s and fboom are super unreliable now. Whenever download speed fluctuates right from the beginning, there is a high probability that the download will fail. In very rare cases you get the good old constant 200kb/s at fboom but it feels like gambling.

This company running these three hosts has been doing this periodically for years but instead of kicking them to the kerb or marginalising them everyone facilitates them because of the kickbacks they feed down the line. Great for uploaders and forums. shite for everyone else.

For me personally I lost patience when I spent 3 days trying to DL a 600mb file that took 3 days to complete and was corrupt to shite when it did finally, forcing me to start again with fingers crossed or cough up.

Moaning and bitching about it won't fix anything and sharing all our tales of woe won't correct the issue or lead to some collective Kumbayah moment. Real solutions are hard but simple. And they will never happen

They've periodically had this same problem in the past, it was usually related to handshaking issues with server replacements or upgrades, and would get fixed after a couple days. This run here though is the worst I can remember. This has been going on all month and the downloads are almost impossible for free users at this point. Even paid user downloads are failing, not good.

On a slightly related note, I recently cracked my own personal record for the largest ever free download from Filejoker that actually completed successfully. After frustration with constantly failing K2S and FB attempts, I started the FJ one instead just as a piss-take really, not expecting in my wildest dreams it would actually complete because it was 6.12GB in one file and came in at the default 25kB/s the whole time right from the start!

It took 3 days (69hrs) to complete, but to my utter amazement, it actually completed uncorrupted.

Will they ever even try to fix anything? Download speeds are all over the place, but really slow for quite some time now.

I'm getting 200 from both TEZ/FB. K2S is slower at more like 120 max, but reliability seems for now largely solved.

Currently it looks fine, will see if it remains that way. How do you get 120 kb/s from K2S? Even with planetsuzy referrer I just get 50 kb/s in jDownloader.

FB down to 150 kb/s, TF down to 2 (!) - 50 kb/s atm.

It's odd, I get 200 kb/s downloads consistently, without any registration nonsense from one member here, only with this members files, every time? Every other k2s file I download I get the registration nonsense and 75 kb/s.

Do some k2s uploaders choose not to get cash payments, just using k2s as a convenience not to make money? That's the only reason that would make any sense to me.

Unfortunately not a prolific poster, very very limited in fact so a lot of good that does but it is nice a return to the past with his/her files.....

I'm starting to dread k2s links ... moreso since the 'safe 100%' anim appeared. It seems the anim is done with script so that cpu usage hits 100% when I look at the page. (also affects fb & tez)
This is before getting past the un/registered twice as slow BS
Also before the recaptcha which is also a cpu basher and regularly fails if the cpu is being bashed - on k2s and any other site.

And because there's no way to retry recapcha without reloading - after a couple of tries the speed drops further
