Lexus IS is a model that they've sold since 1999, so I would imagine it is a concept of a development of that model line.

I don't know if IS stands for anything. Not every automaker spells S3XY with their model names like a pathetic child.

The Toyota Altezza (Italian for "height" I think or maybe "altitude") became the Lexus IS. IS= "Intelligent Sport" if you own one or are a fan. In the rear view mirror of our Dodge Challenger SRT Twin Turbo it stands for "Incredibly Slow" on the way to Lake Tahoe
