weirdest bug u will ever see!!!!
so i have a bunch of tabs open in edge, and i go to cut/paste the URLs to a text file. most go ok, but one -- a harmless WIKI article -- shows up as
"1PgaJb4aDiEBgxibEagvKA8cmoPHcTAN5J" when i chick "paste". i figure i had some jpg title or something in my clipboard somehow (despite having JUST cut/pasted a diff wiki), so i tried again. and again. and i opened the wiki in a new tab and tried from THAT url. same paste! i shut down edge, restarted, rebooted PC even, and STILL that wiki URL showed up as such. gave up in frustration and forgot about it until today when i went to cut/paste an unrelated text line inside notepad (nothing special; something like "pick up dress fri") and that SAME STUPID STRING appeared as the "paste"!!!! this after having done cut/paste for 100s of other things in the meantime. i googled it to see if this was some weird virus or something, and the LONE hit for that string is something to do with blockchain. what the heck is going on here?! and i being hijacked in some kind of bitcoin guerilla marketing? |

Instead of copying and pasting the link, just drag the favicon from the address bar to the text document instead.
See if this solves the problem.

I suspect this might be what you have, a (very, lol) poorly configured malware that hijacks the clipboard to throw a bitcoin wallet instead of another:
http://techcrunch.com/2018/07/03/ne...pto-addresses/ Time to scan your machine for pests and all. |

it DOES seem to be related to that, but how am i even triggering it?? i don't have any bitcoins; i've never even looked up the bitcoin (or blockchain, etc.) wiki, afaicr.
coupla concrete examples -- had list of sites for "public domain" movies: Code:
123yesmovies.pro infomaniakos.net kinogo.zone pasateatorrent.net ww3.123movies.gr alt-torrent.com xn--dvxtotal-c2a.com yesmovie.cyou yesmovies.best yts.one Code:
1PgaJb4aDiEBgxibEagvKA8cmoPHcTAN5J infomaniakos.net kinogo.zone pasateatorrent.net ww3.123movies.gr alt-torrent.com xn--dvxtotal-c2a.com yesmovie.cyou yesmovies.best yts.one meanwhile, while updating calendar, i found that "19 sat" "20 sun" "21 mon" etc transfer fine but "18 fri" "17 thu" "16 wed" etc yield that string. this is not coincidence -- "18 fri" pasted just fine YESTERDAY but will no longer; seems the dividing line shifts as the days pass! i should note that the same thing happens if i type "18 fri" from scratch, even in a new file. so it's not like there's some hidden character inside the first copy triggering all this. right here, right now: (typing) 18 fri (cut/paste of same) 1PgaJb4aDiEBgxibEagvKA8cmoPHcTAN5J in some cases preceding/surrounding text overrides it. (typing) deadline 18 fri (cut/paste of same) deadline 18 fri |

You have malware, scan your system before it gets worse, do what i do, run a full scan using windows defender, then run malware bytes full scan, which is free, dont run them at the same time, that will seriously slow down your computer, run the virus scan first, then the malware scan, whatever it finds it will alert you and give you the option to delete what it finds or quarantine and yes, malware bytes is free , its great to have no matter how often you use it, i scan my machine full scan atleast twice a month
