![]() This whole topic is very interesting.
I don't think the technology is there yet. (there are lots of partial solutions) In plain language what I want to do is watch my porn on my LCD tv in my bedroom and use a remote to fast forward etc. So what I do is plug a portable hard drive 1TB into my SmartTV and then use the remote to operate it. This works OK (6/10) Its a first generation LG and it does not play all my files (easy to fix by converting the files) but it does not fast forward very well (hardly at all) I plan to get a new Samsung 2016 model soon (LG seem to have given up on smart tv's) as they have a new OS and a faster chip etc.

![]() It's similar to setting up a home network with your wireless connection.
I don't see why it would not possible to at least play videos on your TV once it's connected to the network. Another option would be to mirror or project your computer screen to your TV through your wifi connection. I know that it's possible to do this in Windows 10 but not sure about earlier versions though.

![]() And just to clarify guys this is not for accessing porn on my living room. Its for sporting events streaming on my PC. If I want to watch porn on my TV it gets burned to DVD. ![]() |

![]() For streaming sports that you would normally do on your computer, the only solution I have found is using an Amazon Firestick or similar android based device. You have to "hack" it by downloading the right addons, but for that particular situation, it is all I have done that works.
Except... Connecting your pc via hdmi is just using your tv as any other monitor. In fact, even if your pc doesn't have an hdmi output, every tv I have had in the last 8 years has had the older monitor hookup as well. You would just have to feed the sound a different way. |

Unfortunately I can't say for certain. HDMI is certainly supposed to carry the sound, but due to either driver issues or something else I haven't had the time to figure out, the sound through MY hdmi does not. I have read this is an issue for some people. I route my sound through my stereo receiver, which is also connected to the rest of the entertainment set up I have. |

![]() Why not get a Chromecast? You can use that to stream media from any device connected to your home WiFi network straight to your TV.
