Camera work and video quality in porn

What kind of camera angles, camera work and video resolutions do you like to watch? What are you biggest likes and dislikes?

I personally love POV videos. I like it when the camera is on a tripod, slightly further back.



I dislike shaky handheld video, it's really distracting. I dislike when the camera is really way too close to the girl. I want to see their entire body, not where the camera is pushed into her face.

I prefer watching videos in 4K, though some 1080p videos are great too.

I think it depends on the mood.
POVs are great, that's true, they're even better with VR.
What also comes to my mind is that movies "erotic art", when there is dark, there is focus on the emotions, for example I really like movies form sinfullxxx.

Mike Adriano pretty much invented this style of porn he add the super closeup to with a closeup of his dick for 20+ min most porn watchers do not want to see that.

Personally I think this aspect of porn became increasingly shit after gonzo porn was popularized and now with the advent of completely home-made OF scenes, it's even worse.

We went from scenes being shot by actual pros who often times also worked in mainstream movies and TV to just porn producers buying professional camera equipment and doing everything themselves without knowing the first thing about camera angles, proper lighting, ... to OF quality scenes where often times the content looks like it was shot on the girls smartphone or maybe if we are lucky a Gopro or equivalent.

I think one also has to take into account an editor that knows how to stitch the stuff together to make it seem like one long continuous scene. There are some talented folks out there that can do it too- but lacking. I sometimes look at some earlier footage shot on VHS and you could tell someone flipped the image or repeated the same footage to extend a scene.

So yeah I think some consideration has to go into the people that take the footage and makes a good edit of the scenes shot. What bores me at times is one long droning shot that doesn't ramp up the tension or kink. At that point, it's almost like watching doorbell camera- no variety and mighty sterile.

I can't delve into any specifics, as I wouldn't know really what makes a good porn film.
But while I was just happy to see half a pixelated nipple in my teens, in my mid 30s I have grown so much more demanding of my porn.

First, I avoid over plastichy bodies...(I can assure you even the fakest bimbos would have made me hard at 16).
Secondly I stopped downloading sub 720p videos (I also like downloading films in high quality...I just appreciate the sharpness).
Thirdly, I instantly delete a video if I see little chemistry within the people involved.

When it comes to the quality of the lighting and camera work, I grew tired of low effort videos.
But, oddly enough, I tend to dislike when porn clips are too "filmic" (like the tushyraw videos), as I often see very lazy camera work in such videos, and almost 0 intensity.

In a good porn film you need a good variety of shots, and a good cameraman knows how to frame each moment at its best, without sticking too much time on the same camera view.
I dare saying it, but there's some artistry involved.

One thing I hate is what I call "framing with no intention".
You want to show the penetration (of any kind) in detail? It's an intent.
You want to focus on the expressions on the actors? Not a huge fan, but it's an intent.

So often, I tend to see this very lazy framing that just shows what's going on, without making appreciating any detail possible.
Very didascalic.

This often manifests in 2 actors being shot fucking in a way that makes you see noting...
You can't see the penetration itself, you can't really see the breasts of the actress, you can't really see the expressions...

It just leaves you disappointed.

When it comes to pov, I only really like the traditional style, with the woman on her knees and the man standing.
This for many reasons...

First, you can much better appreciate the woman's breast this way, making you see 2 very sexy things at once (therefore increasing the excitement), but it's lso something about the pose itself (speaking as a male).

I don't know why, but I noticed I tend to get stronger erections when standing and something about the way the penis stays when standing (might be something about the blood flow) gives you more pleasure.
The fact you can feel your testicles more, because of the dangling, also makes it more exciting.

I really hate that most pov shots these days are with the man lying down, or flat on a bed alltogether.

People that run these studio are just being really cheap they try to get away with only 3 or 4 server not 6 to 8. To save space they down covert 1080p videos to 5k to 6500 bitrate min should be 9500 at h265 4k is now 14k to 18k min should be 27k to 28k bitrate at H265.
