I created a linkedin account a long time ago... more than a decade ago. I never used it and notice the last few years, I gotten emails sent to my yahoo email address... that say someone tried to add you and things like that. I just never logged into my linkedin account though and thinking about logging in.

My questions are

Do people who add you years ago ... does it still show as pending similar to like how someone add you on facebook but you never accept/reject and it just stays there?

You could view who has viewed your profile... is that correct? I ask this because years ago i recalled i created a fake linkedin account just to check some old friends... just put in fake name and check and then i noticed some of them checked my profile. So basically linkedin allows you to see who seen your profile... is that correct? And its still to do this? What if you don't have a linkedin account? You can't view profile right? Last time i tried to view profile and can't see it.

Could you or others check how many times your profile was viewed and by who? Could they see or track your ip address? Or they can only see who viewed their profile?

I have a LinkedIn account and regarding your IP address, no one gets access except the web administrator. You don't need to accept who follows you unlike with Facebook. It's like Twitter, anybody can follow you. It's basically designed for job seekers, professionals, and businesses.

But can someone see when was the last time u logged on linkedin or not? So if you don't want others to know you checked their profile... don't visit their profile? I clicked on a few profiles... some are they and some random accounts. I then noticed i believe... that friend clicked and viewed my profile. So that mean they know who seen your profile then?

Okay so after all this time, I finally logged into my old linkedin account. The first thing i notice was i only got one friend request yet in my email connected to my linkedin account, i recall lot of people years ago wanted to add me... i just never logged into linkedin and never bothered. Then it shows i do't have any views at all meaning no one viewed my profile... which would not be possible since i had people try to add me. Well i then saw i have my account in private mode and i read if you do this, it doesn't show who viewed your profile.

But i see there is option to upgrade to premium for free for one month trial. But if i do that... i assume i won't be able to see who has viewed my profile all the way back since i created my account... is that right? I created the account over ten plus years ago... even longer than that... i just didn't put any info there.

I like to know what happens if i don't stay on private mode now... that mean anyone who visit my profile, i could see who viewed my profile? But what if they are on private mode then? Again the thing that is confusing is a while back i created a fake linkedin account because i wanted to browse old friends and then i recalled i checked my account and someone who i viewed their profile, viewed my profile etc. So can someone explain all this?

You don't need premium for others to see your account. Under account preferences, you can select whom can see your information. Default, I believe, is that it is viewable to everyone.

You can also see who has viewed your account, unless they are restricting that info. Some people have it completely visible, others will only show a basic description, like "Recruiter".
