I use both Firefox and Chrome for different reasons. No complaints other than the fact that Chrome loves to eat RAM.

Originally I used IE but most sites at that time discouraged using that so I switched to Firefox. That worked great for a number of years but then on I would have problems playing videos on certain sites. I had tried Chrome at work and hated it but tried it again and, I guess with upgrades since then, it worked much better. So I use Chrome now. One problem I have, and this is odd, if I go to websites that are hosted by my ISP, it completely slows down Chrome. Not all the time but most of the time. So I stay clear of those websites. Would like to hear from anyone that may know why it does this but otherwise Chrome works fine for me.

3) i DL a lot of audio/video and some %age of them will not offer up URLs via right click and/or "save file as...". for most of those the URL is obvious via "view source" (any browser) but for SOME that it isn't (involving off-page fetching or w/e), it can still be found under FF's "view info >> media". is there an equiv to this in other browsers? SOME of those i have managed to find via "inspect element" (chrome), but not all. there's a certain %age i am left with which i am at a flat-out dead end tryna find URLs for. not a lone site here or a lone site there -- i been at this a while, and i have whole categories of podcasts divided into "URL via right click", "URL via page source", "URL via info or inspect", and "URL still unknown". any tricks/workarounds on that last one? |

Their is 1 thing kinda annoying about firefox, the directory of space gets filled up fast, like i choose to daily to delete site data/cookies etc, and i noticed even if i dont go on that many sites its also over a gb of space, or close to it

I use Brave browser on the desktop and mobile, and I'm quite calm and happy when surfing the web, blocks practically all ads, is full compatible with all chrome extensions, is open source and doesn't invade privacy. |

Open a search in explorer Search for Firefox Goto Profiles In profiles, open <somename>.default Open cache2 This is almost always 1Gig unless you choose "Clear history when Firefox closes". To clear this Cache Goto Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security Under Cookies and Site Data Enable [X] "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" - set any exceptions under Manage Exceptions Then exit/close Firefox |

on an earlier windows i recall having Profiles under (or parallel to?) something like "AppData" off to the side somewhere (up top under weird "Favorites" or "Libraries" shortcuts), but i don't even see that now. i figured maybe that was located under "Windows" or "Win32", not "Firefox" itself? elsewhere on C:, i find "Users", but again, no "Profiles" (and no "Firefox", for that matter) underneath. i redid all the searches using "Mozilla" instead of Firefox, but still nogo. WHERE exactly is this all located? rather than "search" can you give a sample addy, e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefox 62.0.3 (64 bit)\..." type string? i can take it from there. TIA! |

of all the weird "glitches" in life, this one takes the cake. it was working just fine up until recently. i depend heavily on this, so i was driven back to FF. reinstalled** and "view info >> media" still works fine. REST of FF still bugging me. for now i'm just opening it when i need to snag an URL like this. ----- ** FAILED reinstall, btw. lack of space, i assume. but after aborting installation -- and planning to redo after opening up some space -- i found, amazingly, that everything works fine! what thu...? i dunno if some minor advanced features or add-ons were affected, but absolutely nothing that i've been able to find in the 2-3 weeks since this all happened. i never imagined an aborted install could work, even slightly! "broken and missing, it keeps on ticking..." |
