as i understand it, facebook stories are posts (just videos?) which "expire" after a certain time. like 24 hrs or w/e. right?

lately whenever i try to open any i get an "expand this window to view" message. well, first off, i'm already fully maximized (just shy of full-screen but with tool bars still on edges), but beyond that, i've even tried at actual full-screen. neither one changes anything.

moreover clicking on "expand" actually SHRINKS the window this is in! don't quite understand that, but no matter. if something would actually PLAY, i'd deal with w/e form it is.

any thoughts? i do recall viewing a few like 6 mos back, but lately every single one just ends in this "expand window" dead-end.

i shud note, some info page says that FB stories are "viewable only on phones". is that true? i don't have a phone -- the few that i saw back when were definitely via my laptop.

but did they tighten this up somehow? izzat why it's confused abt the size of its own window?

problem solved itself!

no clue why. after 5 weeks of not being able to see ANY of these, suddenly they play just fine!! now i get "expand screen" on like 1 in 20 tries only. and a simple refresh will have THAT one playing ok as well.

this was definitely NOT the case when i first posted. i was refreshing things like no tomorrow, to no avail.

yea FB is quite buggy and sometimes problems go away on their own

what does this relate to? i now have lots of HDD space avail (didn't before), so it's not that.

this is frustrating! i really wanna see these things consistently, if they're really gonna disappear.

but ARE they? did i misunstand the basic concept of these? lately i notice the wording "...has ADDED to his/her story". does this mean the whole backlog is still accessible somehow? that each of these 15 sec vids, say, are lined up in one MASTER vid?

anyway, that's for later. for now i just wanna access the "current" ones....

Make sure your browser isn't blocking them. I have an ad blocker that doesn't allow them to be played unless I disable it.
