might i suggest ppl not quote every last thing they respond to?! it's an incredible waste of screen space, a waste of server space, and, frankly, annoying as $%&*! to read.

if someone posts a long, detailed comment, do not QUOTE it when you add "me too"!

if someone posts a long, detailed QUESTION, do not QUOTE it if u are obviously answering!

in any case, do not quote the IMMEDIATELY PREVIOUS POST in *any* circumstances! it's right there, we see it!!!!

geesh, why do people do this?! if i repeated every last word of someone else in a conversation before adding my two cents, i would be very unpopular indeed.

save the quotes for when they actually ADD something to the conversation, clarification-wise -- such as when multiple topics are in the air and there is legitimate ambiguity about which one you're addressing (interwoven model ID requests being a prime example). otherwise, PULLLLLEASE spare us! PLEASE!!!!

kudos to him -- once -- but i'd like to eliminate the 90% of the posts that look like that in actual threads.

and, yes, selective quoting has a purpose. your (alexora) first post would be fine most anywhere -- but there are an awful lot of threads clogged up with serial posts like BJB's. less the irony.
