The Tour De France is underway and 2 stages are in the books after the team time trials yesterday and yes like the Chucks these guys have some serious pileups too ...

Jumbo-Visma trounced Ineos to victory on stage two of the Tour de France to keep Mike Teunissen in the yellow jersey but Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal picked up major chunks of time on their rivals.

Jumbo-Visma finished the 27.6km team time trial in 28 minutes 58 seconds to beat Ineos by 20 seconds, keeping the yellow jersey on the shoulders of Saturday's shock stage one winner.

Wimbledon is also going on and I'm sure I can find a paint drying and grass growing competition if I look hard enough, let me go look lmfao.

It's a common thing that the players eat different foods from the Cup. Joel Edmundson's choice was poutine. I'll be honest with you, I didn't know what poutine is, so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Sounds like it's a very delicious food, although not too healthy. Do you like poutine???
The Cup sure lives an exciting life, visits a lot of interesting places and meets a bunch of new people every day. I'm sure the parties here in Europe will be phenomenal and will attract huge crowds. Especially for the Russian players.

Not really a fan of pig food lol, my kitten likes the gravy and clumpy cheese though! I tried a frozen processed one a week or so ago and it took 2 days to work up the bravery to nuke it and try it lol. Then again I dunk my perogyies on salsa so you are asking the wrong girl lol.

Anyway here is something I think you will enjoy. It is 10 blocks from my house in Ft Edmonton Park at a sporting store ... the second one is Johnny Boychuk.

You might also like "the keeper of the cup" website and blog. I contribute to it with articles periodically but it really is a great read

Wow this is something, a huge Cup! Is that you on the first picture???
And one more question. Do you speak French???

There was a trade yesterday.

Chicago acquired Alexander Nylander from Buffalo for Henri Jokiharju.

It's surprising Bowman got rid of Jokiharju this quickly. Early last season he played 20 minutes per game and his offense was very good. I thought he'll be the defenseman of the future. Both players are very young with little experience. Nylander's dad was a Blackhawk for two and a half years and he was an important part of the team. His stats were great. Now it's his son's turn to shine in the Windy City. Hopefully he can earn a spot in the team in training camp and he makes our offense better.

My lawyers asked me politely to take down all or as many personal photos as is possible due to my close association with the professional sports world ... it is a family friend though.

It is a sad day in the hockey world and you may remember this name as he also played with your Hawks. Greg Johnson the former captain of the Nashville Predators died yesterday at the tender age of 48. He played in 785 NHL games during his time between 1993-2006 and took the first ever faceoff for the Preds ...

He also played with Detroit, Pittsburgh and Chicago.

Rest in peace dear sir and godspeed

I've read a few times that numerous French-Canadian players (Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Patrice Bergeron etc.) didn't speak English at all when they have arrived to their American teams. I know Canada is a bilingual country, yet I find it incredible that in Quebec province almost nobody speaks English.

Yes I remember him from the Predators. And as you said, he was a former Blackhawk. It's very sad he passed away so young. Rest in peace Greg.

I forgot to respond to this.
Our team will be much different next season. Hopefully the experienced defensemen and goaltender we have obtained so far will help reduce the allowed goals' number. Our PK was one of the worst in the league and that meant we always played catch-up hockey. And although the offense was strong, most of the times we ended up on the wrong side of the score. But the biggest problem is that the Central Division is one of the best in the league. We'll play a bunch of games against the champs, plus there's the much improved Stars, the always good Predators and the rest isn't too shabby either.

Quebec is somewhat of an enigma but my mom taught me if I don't have anything nice to say then say nothing lol.

It isn't so much that they can't speak English it is more they choose not to ... the French signs in the province have to be bigger than the English translation by law. Tabernac lol.

If you want to hear broken English watch Slapshot lol. "Who own da Chiefs".

Here is the full ESPY breakdown and I warn you it is a long list so grab a coffee. I tweeted and texted a few winners but think I was most proud of our Canadian female golfer Brooke Henderson who was a winner ... one of our gym's mma fighters was nominated. The Raptors should have shared the best comeback but it went to a deserving team, the Blues. The Raptors might have shared the best team too but congrats to the US ladies soccer team.

The best teams, athlete and sports moments over the last year were honored at the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday night.
