Let me begin by pointing out a rule in this forum.
Quote:
Now to create a link for any text or picture you first highlight it then click the Insert Link icon at the top of the message box. The icon looks like a small blue globe with a chain link. There you paste the URL of the site you wish to link to.

Thanks donski
I'd only be linking to my rapidshare links in this way. I was wondering how I did this manually say from an email or a picture I inserted from imagevenue somewhere on the web.

Email is completely different and you should never link images from the web in an email, it only causes problems because not everyone can display them so they just get a box with a red X in its place.
Some image hosts don't allow hot linking, and imagevenue may be one of them. This means that all you can get is one of their own thumbnails that already contains a link to their site so you can't add your own link. OK, now to do as you asked, let's take this in two steps. 1) Right click on the image you found on the web and choose Copy Image Location, click on the Insert Image icon and paste it there. As an example I did this with the image from my avatar and this is what I get. And how it looks 2) Now I copied the URL of the main page of our forum, highlighted the image, clicked the Insert Link icon and pasted that into it. This is what I get. And how it looks Notice that if you click on that image it will take you to the main page. You can do the same with any RS link. Please be kind and let people know not only what the content is that they will download by clicking on the image but also which file host you are using, you would never want to be caught posting a link to a banned host in this manner.

Thanks Donski
Would I be right in saying this method doesn't work with MSN hotmail. I've tried it and MSN won't allow the image to be linked. Anyone know how to get around this?

Html code link.
You will need this html code: <a href="(replace this with the target url, use http://)"><img src="(replace this with the source of the image)"></a> Result: A image that links to a page or a website. Hope I was useful. |

Am I right in saying that the photo will need to be hosted on an image hoster site. I can't change the codes in hotmail. When I paste the image into hotmail from the image host all I get is the code no image.
