It's Punk's first match since the 2014 Royal Rumble. I see Darby putting up a hell of a fight, but Punk gets the win.

I had thoughts about them going with the time limit draw; would show Punk can go 20 min, Darby doesn't have to actually lose. But after Punk's promo tonight I suspect he's going over.
The Jericho-MJF stip is interesting. I wonder if it's a way to clear Jericho out of the way and have his time go towards Punk or Bryan, or whoever else could be coming. There's a Women's Casino Battle Royal next week, the last entry is always a surprise. My money is on Ruby Soho(fka Ruby Riott). Maybe Cassie and/or Jess(Peyton/Billie) show up too, but for some reason I have this vision of them going to Impact with Tenelle in some Aussie trio group thing. |

Isn't it great to see the future Cold Stone Griff Garrison, man. Give him a few years, he'll figure it out.
Punk will win unless he has something up his sleeve. Instead of limit draw which they did with Cody already, it could come down to the last minute perhaps. I can see Jericho retiring. They use his graphic in the left bottom corner advertising for the show as if a nod to his last match or maybe red herring but I think they used that before the match was announced. It gives him an out for Fozzy plus MJF can always coax him back out of retirement need they do that. Poor Red Velvet, I like her, but man that moonsault. Their division always feels like it's on the cusp of getting somewhere and then the flames get put out. Are we seeing Ric Flair at All Out or is that too weird or not even allowed yet? |

I'd rather see Flair continue to do a little work for NWA, And not see him come into AEW right away. Because there's still that episode of Dark Side which is tackling The Plane Ride from Hell. (And from producers exact words were after cutting this thing together this is one of the most anxiety inducing fucking episodes of this show I’ve ever done. Absolute fucking horror show.) If That Episode is truly a horror show and Flair's name is blasted out on social media. it'll make AEW look very bad and very hypocritical hiring Flair, cause you suspended two talents for their colorful words of certain women and on top of that you fired one talent cause of his role in the wrestling equivalent to the MeToo movement.

For a PPV? You're going to get a finish. I would just have it be an even match with Darby Allin kicking out of some crazy things. But in the end, maybe one too many GTS will put him away. That's the best result I can think of since you certainly shouldn't have Punk lose in his first match back. |

WWE: Veterans squash hot talent and take title shots
AEW: Veterans cut a promo putting over others and step out of the way as a sign of respect.

Impact is to only company only doing intergender matches on TV. They had the Homecoming PPV, which had an interender tag tournament to crown the king and queen. Just last week on Impact Taylor Wilde had a 3-1 handicap match against The Inspiration (Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne and Kaleb with a K). I just saw this great intergender tag championship match with The Sea Stars vs Mane Event. |

Best decision I made as I watching N2 of Wrestle Slam last night in not looking at my Twitter Timeline making this Event even better for me. I'm about to watch Jericho vs MJF but Show before this Match coming up so great. Everyone had their abilities to actually work out there and not worry about time and you can see it with each Match.

OK, deeper thoughts about All Out(mostly in order of the card). First off it was a great card up and down, nothing really stands out as bad as even the dumb thing(Paul Wight-QT) was short and went how it should have gone.
I feel like they're setting up Kingston getting a win in a rematch on the show they have at Arthur Ashe(Queens, NY) in a couple weeks since that'd be a home game for Eddie. It looks like Moxley is just having the time of his life with these no-story beat the crap out of each other matches, another of which we'll get tomorrow. Britt won, as expected. She's getting a bunch of cheers still, as expected. Maybe she gets turned face via a Hayter betrayal. Ruby Soho wins as the joker, they do like to have that happen often. I think it's OK in that Thunder Rosa is the real money match for Britt where the title change should happen, so having Ruby as a bridge contender is fine. Title change in the cage match makes sense, giving them to the Lucha Bros makes sense. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the best tag match of the year. To me, not as good as the 'Escalera de la muerte' match from 2019 or the Bucks/Hangman+Omega match in 2020, but those are very high bars to clear. The Bucks also get free'd up to deal with Elite business, which is picking up. Loved the fakeout entrance by MJF, it's just scary how good of a troll/dick heel he is. Not a fan of the Dusty Finish; in general it's not bad if used sparingly, but not in a match with a retirement stip. Just feels wrong to me, especially from a seat that could see the foot on the ropes as it happened. Punk can still wrestle, not a technical masterclass but a very good storytelling one. Starts slow as the 'old man' tries to get back in the groove and picks up in the second half leading to an expected finish. Respect handshakes a nice touch as well. Omega-Christian went close to as one would expect, with a couple outside table spots to try and get in the conversation for match of the night. Ultimately, Kenny takes over late for the win. Post-match shenanigans by the Elite lead to a rescue attempt by Jurassic Express which goes badly. Kenny cuts a promo about the only people with a shot are either not there, retired or dead. Lights go out, out comes Adam Cole(bay bay). He lays the boom straight to Jungle Boy's head and joins the Elite with open arms. Kenny calls us chumps for thinking Cole would be against him, he goes into his standard outro when more music hits and a wild Bryan Danielson appears. After many statements of affirmatives from the crowd, the Elite retreat and the show ends with the faces stand united. |
