Allowed Image Host Discussion

Imagebunk was added today to the list of banned hosts. Is there a serious background for this?

The reason why I am asking is simple. I never used imagebunk, but imagewaste (it was for a short time on the list of recommended hosts at Fritchy ). Imagewaste was purchased by and integrated into imagebunk. Should I replace those previews? I don't want to spread malware. I have about ~10 to 15 posts with this host.

First moderators, then VIPs debated for several months the pros and cons of many image hosts (including Fastpic.ru) before arriving at the 15 Allowed Image Hosts. We believe all members should be able to find at least a few suitable image hosts on the list.

After a trial period, we may add or replace image hosts depending upon demand and quality of service. Already several host owners have offered to reduce pop-up ads or modify their services in order to be included.

Don't complain to me or other staff members if your preferred image host is not listed; post here instead. Posts in this thread may contain sample images hosted by services not on the Allowed Image Host list. It is unlikely we will take seriously any proposed addition unless it is accompanied by sample thumbnails.

Is it allowed to use image link directly from file hosting site, like small banner above download link which represents that host?

Only image host I ever had problems with is allowed. Imagetwist. bout as bad as oron. and hotfiles. Oron in that people are addicted to it and the pictures go poof and hotfiles that the pictures go poof. Sometimes pimpandhost doesn't work in BID but as long as I use BID I'm usually safe.

We expect many members will begin using imagetwist as the only allowed paid image host. Imagetwist management agreed to block payment to any poster of duplicate images, particularly in Celeb/Supermodel Pictures at Planetsuzy.

Ok, glad to see this is open to discussion. Hope that some of the suggested hosts will actually make it to the approved list.
Here is my suggestion:

Advantages over other hosts or at least most of those already in the list:
- Upload from url (personally a must have in a host I am gonna use).
- They've never deleted a single image I've uploaded (and there was plenty)
- Custom thumbnail size (you can set any width you want for a thumbnail). I use this feature to set the width to relatively high number so that most people can actually see everything in thumbnails of covers and screens and don't even have to leave Suzy or any other site I post to.

Their global Alexa Rank is 17,794 so I am not really one of the handful using them.

This might look like a sales pitch but I am very peculiar as to what I want my posts to look like. And I won't be able to get there if it is not allowed. Not to mention the selfish reason of having to use a different host just for Suzy and then taking longer to post each post on top of the existing posting limits.
