You can argue that it makes sense from the point of view of a free downloader. DF has a slow download speed for free users (as basically all hosts nowadays) so if someone isn't keen on leaving his/her computer on all the time, it's better to download these smaller files throughout 2 or more days (I'm not sure just how slow DF download for a free user is). Although 5 parts is excessive, I have to agree on that. If I split a file that I upload I usually split it into at least 7-800 MB parts, no less than that size.

all can be solved putting the small version.Instead of download 1.8 gb i can download 200 mb

With anyvideoconverter i convert that file of 1.8gb in one of 160 mb that is still good(640x480)

Why do you even visit the HD section if it bothers you so much? There's an SD section where you should be perfectly happy with the content. By not going into the HD section, you don't have to pollute your gentle sensibilities with high definition. By going there voluntarily, you seem to imply that you want to be annoyed. Is that the case?

Small version is here too, and it has been since April 27. Clearly you're not looking in the right places. Quit wasting your time bitching and put some effort into searching.

I was just reading Deposit Files FAQ's and it said that you can upload and download up to 10 GB's files, I wouldn't go that far but it would be nice to be able to upload 2 GB size files. Does anybody know if this is for free users (as I read it) or gold members only. Also I thought I screwed up last week upping a file of 1.5 GB's to ************ and was surprised to see 9 people downloaded it before the site went down three days ago. I hope the site comes back, does anybody know the file size allowed free users there as I couldn't find a thing about it on their website. Thanks for any help guys and gals.

yes no problem.

the faq clearly states that you can upload and download files up to 10 GB.

As a uploader you are not automatically a gold user and it is never stated in any way that you need a gold account to do so.

As a matter of fact: the "premium" effects of df are quite different compared to other filehosts ( more user friendly)
