Interesting about a month ago the bank stopped my card, someone in Russia tried to take $19,000NZ out of it. BM or BL something. Only confusing thing was that my K2S and Rapidgator accounts were last topped up 3 months ago. And just before the fraud I'd gone all legal and brought a GOW membership. So whether it was the file sharing sites, GOW's gonzo download agent (must admit that name makes me nervous) or something else I don't know.

Yeah! Pity the bank didn't reverse the withdrawal I only keep enough in it (debit card) to cover online purchases - would have come out looking pretty good. Decided to go to just using pre paid card in future so theres no way they can get any extra.

I would never ever use a credit card to pay filehosters.

I re-upped my K2S earlier this month and was able to use one of those non-reloadable Visa gift cards. The charge normally won't work because the hosters are outside the US but the charge went through showing as FILE KEEPER SERVER based out of Florida. Only a few dollars left on it but no fraud attempts so far. Safer than using a standard CC.

Another thought. Anyone checked out that new Discover Card that can be locked when not in use? Sounds like it would be perfect for charging stuff like this.
