Why listen to metal music ?!

The Paul Di'Anno albums are my fav, but the first few Bruce albums were good, then they got too "vocal" for me.
And OMG Krokus!..Forgot all about them.

My metal history started with a few "dark" songs on CCR records handed down to me from my sister.
Then I discovered Sabbath in the 70's.
When I got a new job in the early 80's, there was a record store across the street from the bank where I cashed my checks.
I got to sample different bands every week for years.
Here's my surviving cassette collection.
Not counting the many worn out copies I had to replace often.
That's right kids, records and cassettes didn't last long!
I can't tell you how many times I had to replace Double Live Gonzo,The Song Remains The Same, Trower Live..

I am familiar with the bulk of your cassette titles zero as I owned many of them.

Yes, cassettes had their own little drawbacks mostly when the "tap pad" came off then you world hear a screech come through the speakers! Most of the time I would super-glue the little bastard back on and if it came off a second time I would replace the cassette.



LOL at least they didn't drag like 8-tracks!

In the era of MTV there were many fund raisers and among them was Hear 'N Aid.

Artists from numerous hard rock and heavy metal bands of the era were there and includes an epic muli guitarist solo!

Cool collection Zero. Got some great stuff there. I still have quite a few cassette tapes also, left over from my high school days. Mostly alternative rock, since that's what I was into at the time, but a few metal ones in there as well.

A song inspired by the historical 1914 event... The Christmas truce was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front of the First World War around Christmas 1914.

The truce occurred five months after hostilities had begun. Lulls occurred in the fighting as armies ran out of men and munitions and commanders reconsidered their strategies following the stalemate of the Race to the Sea and the indecisive result of the First Battle of Ypres. In the week leading up to 25 December, French, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In some areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, creating one of the most memorable images of the truce. Hostilities continued in some sectors, while in others the sides settled on little more than arrangements to recover bodies.

The following year, a few units arranged ceasefires but the truces were not nearly as widespread as in 1914; this was, in part, due to strongly worded orders from commanders, prohibiting truces. Soldiers were no longer amenable to truce by 1916; the war had become increasingly bitter after the human losses suffered during the battles of 1915.
