Old applications running on OS 10.3.9 on a new Mac
Hey Folks.....
I come humbly seeking your wisdom regarding transferring old applicaationss from a Ibook G4 to a newer Mac. I've got about $5000 in Adobe software as well as music apps I love.... A tech I talked to at a used computer store mentioned an app or helper called Rosetta. Your wisdom on this topic would be greatly appreciated |

Hi toobboy,
I am assuming that your Ibook G4 is as PowerPC machine, and your newer Mac is Intel based. If this is the case, is the new machine running Snow Leopard? If yes, there is the opportunity of installing Rosetta from the system install disk that came with your new machine: open the DVD in finder and double-click on optional installs->optional installs.mpkg. follow the instructions and on the screen with the choice of things to install choose Rosetta. Best of luck!
