System Monitor software
Need some advice... been using WinBar32 for a while, but now tiring of it, so I'm looking for an alternative.

Would like something that monitors CPU usage, upload/download speeds, and disk usage, at minimum (battery, uptime, recycle bin, etc. optional). Can be either a bar at the top of the screen (must have transparent background), or can be an icon in the taskbar I can hover over for a popup snapshot of the above info. It can even be a thing that shows the same info found in the "performance" tab of task manager. Any ideas (incuding alternatives) are welcomed and appreciated... EDIT: MiTeC Infobar looks intriguing... anyone use that? |

I use Process Explorer. It has taskbar icons with hover-over info and history graphs
Code:
sysinternals.com If anyone can show me the hook to auto start I'd appreciate it

Can you do the old "add the shortcut to the Windows Startup folder" thing?

I've tried adding to all users' startup as admin, adding a task on startup as admin, all seem to fail or require admin password to be entered. Even manually starting during warm-up sometimes fails with 'time-out period expired' But I like it because it shows detail of what is running and what is hogging resources (usually AV ) and history graphs of what has been active, i.e. unusual HD activity? Check the processor graphs for what was active e.g process id 1188 here is svchost, which hosts DWM which hammers the HD when the Desktop changes

what if you go into the Startup folder, right-click on the shortcut, select properties, then on the shortcut tab > Advanced button, select "Run as Admin"? Or also under the security tab there are some options that might work. fwiw, I use SystemExplorer: http://portableapps.com/apps/utilit...lorer_portable |
