Exactly. They're only doing a couple of things as all "customer support" call centres do these days. The first is to give you the endless runaround to deliberately frustrate, obfuscate and stonewall you in the knowledge that eventually this tactic will cause you to give up and go away. The second is a bonus if they can pull it off, which is to mine you for the knowledge you have of their systems and the tactics you use to exploit the loopholes in their defences against customers not paying, so they can then use that to further bolster their defences and close those loopholes.

Either way, there is never any genuine desire to make it easier for you to do what you want to do. It's all one-way information flow. From you… to them. They will never tell you anything useful about them, but they'll want to know everything about you.

Given that PS are seemingly never going to sanction FJ in any way or even restrict its use as a sole download link for ludicrously sized files in here, there are some strategies you can use to avoid it almost entirely.

1. Never download anything in 4K resolution. The majority of FJ-only links upp'd today are huge 4K resolution files. Just don't bother. Unless you're projecting your downloads on a barn door (unlikely I think), 4K is pointless. In perception terms to a human eye, 4K is indistinguishable from 1080p resolution files viewed on the same domestic sized screen.

2. Use the 'Search this Thread' functionality in the board to find the exact same scene you want in 1080p resolution hosted on K2S, FB, DepositFiles, Zippy, Terashare etc. instead of FJ. 9 times out of 10, you will find the scene already posted on much more reliable and faster hosts and the links still work.

3. Look at the list of 'Thanks' given to the poster before deciding whether to attempt a download. If the list of thankers is long, you're usually good. If there are none, start looking elsewhere. You will quickly notice that posters you put up >5GB files on single 24kB/s links on Filejoker get no thanks, while those who mirror the same scene in 1080/720 res. on reliable hosts, get lots of thanks.

Using these strategies you can successfully avoid downloading from FJ I would estimate 95% of the time.

I tend to download the highest res available because as screen resolutions increase, 720 and 1080 are gonna start to look bad.

As for the hosts, I do go back and search to check if the files are available on DF, FB, KS Tez and Zippy, but a lot of new scenes tend to only have this awful file host.

There you can ask for help to download these difficult servers. You post the link to the files you want to download and someone downloads it and sends it to a server that downloads quickly and for free (like Zippyshare).

That was true in the past, but the law of diminishing returns is taking over now. I don't think you'll ever be able to say justifiably that 720/1080 will ever look "bad" on a domestic size screen you can actually fit in your house. I'm not talking about projecting images on the side of skyscrapers here.

I try to never download bigger than 1080 because the filesize becomes unmanageable, the bitrate is sacrificed in favour of headlining the resolution number instead and many older players (and computers) will chug hard trying to keep up with the required disk read speed to play them.

Yes, you can re-encode them down to a lower resoluton, but the reality is that you'll never do that because just reading all the data in a 4K video using a software recoder will take hours or days to do using domestic CPU's.

I've downloaded Formula 1 races in both 1080p@25fps and 720p@50fps (the two most common shared captures shared on BT) and I can assure you the 720p@50fps captures look FAR superior to the 1080 ones. I no longer bother with the 1080 ones unless there's no 720 option.

You also have to accept that there are physical limitations to what your human eyes can see and decode to your brain. Just as our ears cannot hear anything above 20kHz or below 20Hz, there will come a point where digital video is able to produce higher resolution video than is possible to be perceived by a human eye/brain. Where that point lies is still to be determined, but once reached, there is no longer any point in going higher.

I agree. As nice a 4k movie can(!) look on a good 4k display, it isn't worth the effort to download those files.

And about the topic: I think this is by far the worst and most greedy filehoster. The traffic by day combined with the prices are just awful! I would never consider getting a premium subscription by them.
6 gb/day for premium and 12 gb/day for premium vip is joke.
People need just start to avoid downloading anything (yes don't download for free, too!) and they will be gone eventually. I saw so many filehoster come and go and they are destined to fail in the long run.

It shouldn't be this difficult. I shouldn't get "Download Failed" for a 63MB file. I have no issues downloading files 10x that size from other hosts. Telling me to contact the support team implies the issue is on my end. Clearly, it's not. That should be obvious from the other posts in this thread.

Keep2Share and Zippyshare manage to provide efficient and easy downloads. If there's an interruption, I'm able to resume. Filejoker should be able to provide the same level of service.

Downloading a file usually takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the size. Getting a a solution from the "support team" (how many people are on the team, anyway?) will no doubt take hours if not days. This is a reasonable assumption because these issues have been going on for months (years?) with no apparent willingness from the folks at Filejoker to make any improvements. What will it take to facilitate a change?

I downloaded a file from another site that uses K2S yesterday. They get the crappiest speeds at this small site: 30 kb/s!! They had one file that was not to be found anywhere else. It was going to take over 12 hours to download at that speed but it was on K2s and my greatest concern was a momentary power interruption on my end not a failure on the K2S end.

The file download, my longest time ever, was successful! I would never consider even trying a file that long with Filejoker (or Rapidgator)! They are both completely unreliable. The problem isn't on our end it's on their end!
