That was why they looked so deflated at the end of the year and in the playoffs last year. Payton didn't do much to really fix the offensive woes.

I'm not as convinced as you are hun, Wilson is a star no doubt but my thunderchickens aren't a cohesive unit YET and are beatable.

I like Bridgewater, more precisely I like his arm, he has a bullet throw and if it finds the mark he will be okay, what I saw was a few receivers not able to clamp down on his throws but yes he was thrown into the fire with Brees freak accident. He has a week to figure out their mistakes from yesterday and if you look at the record books he tore it up in Minnesota a few years ago and then had a devastating injury that was a long road to recovery and has been bounced around since then.

That is the concern when we get spoiled by superstar pivots on our favorite teams and I had the same worries as my starter for my Calgary Stampeders up here in the CFL was out for most of the season with an injury but is back now as we are down the stretch run toward the playoffs and he is back and on form. Brees is a leader and now that falls on Bridgewater ... we will have to wait and see as Drew shares his vast experience with his heir apparent.

Brees is now out for 6 weeks with torn ligaments in his thumb. This will be the death blow of the Saints season.

The Saints were a 10-6 team at best this year. I don't know why everyone was so high on them and picking them to make the SB this year when in the final stretch of the season last year, they crashed pretty hard. Lost in all the rambling about that horrible non-call in the playoffs, was that the offense completely lost their mojo beginning with how Dallas thoroughly halted them. They never got back rolling after that, they struggled against Tampa, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Philly and the Rams. Every game, including playoffs, the offense struggled to do anything. Of the 4 teams left in the conference title games, their offense performed the worst in stats.

Brees being the Hall of Fame QB he is and able to get the ball out quick as well as reading defenses, helped mask most of the flaws on offense. In reality, they only have 2 weapons on offense - Kamara and Michael Thomas. The offensive line had issues at the end of last year. Instead of working on that, Sean Payton spent most of the off season ranting and raving about the non-call and pushing for rule changes. They brought in Jared Cook who had a bunch of dropped passes yesterday and has been a non-factor in the offense so far.

On the defensive side of the ball, losing Sheldon Rankins and Okafor at the front 7 has opened up holes and now teams can run on them. Cam Jordan is the MVP of this defense and he don't get much help. The secondary was torched by Watson and Goff in their two games. They're still coached by Dennis Allen, whom is infamous for the blown coverage with the Minneapolis Miracle and I have no idea why he's here.

As I said before, I don't think it's all on Bridgewater. This is Payton's offense that he built to be entirely reliant on just 2 play makers (Kamara and Thomas) and a Hall of Fame QB. Lack of depth at the WR position was what ultimately killed them last year. Unfortunately being a Saints fan, I can't discuss this stuff rationally with our fan base, cause between Bountygate and the non-call, their brains are completely broken and they spend all their time pretending Roger Goodell is some comic book super villain and is moving heaven and earth to screw them. All I have read on their forums is refs, refs, refs, nothing about the flaws on this team.

IMO we're looking at a 7-9 at best season with Brees out for 6 weeks. Even with Brees, we looked like a mediocre team. The Saints haven't looked dominant since November of last year when they were wiping the floor with teams and running scores up.

I think Seattle probably blows us out and then Dallas will do the same. It's going to get ugly.

New Orleans and Pittsburgh are going to hurt with their starting QBs out.

I'm not counting out Teddy Bridgewater out just yet as he's been a starter before. He's a pretty pricey back-up so obviously the Saints' brain trust saw something in him. If he can manage the shop until Brees gets back, they still could salvage the season.

Big Ben in Pittsburgh being gone for the year is going to be the bigger blow. Mason Rudolph? He seems like a talented guy but it's not like the Steelers of old now. They're a team in decline but who knows? If it wasn't for an injury to Drew Bledsoe, we'd never know the potential of a Tom Brady either.

Tonight's Monday Night Football game- the hapless Cleveland Browns vs. the just as hapless NY Jets. Who in the NFL front office booked these two teams to be on the national spotlight? Two 0-1 teams jockeying it out isn't the issue, it's just that both of these 0-1 teams really aren't that competitive or good. Cleveland took the gas pipe the week before and the Jets got run over in the second half of their game vs. Buffalo the week before.

Better than seeing the same teams on Monday Night all the time: Green Bay, Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh. Seems there are more NFC games than AFC games on Monday night too.

At least those teams can generate some ratings.

Unless you're a die hard Browns or Jets fan, what sort of appeal does this game offer? Sure, one of them will still be winless at the end of this contest but beyond that- tell me the appeal. Sam Darnold vs. Baker Mayfield? LaVeon Bell vs. Nick Chubb? Maybe OBJ can crack 100 yards this game??

The NFL laid an egg when it came to this scheduling.
