The problem is that it appears NXT is changing and he doesn't really fit into the reported new version. So then if he stays he's going to Raw/SD and I'd have ZERO faith in getting a fair shot there given past history.

I've been thinking this for a while, but it appears the worst thing to be in WWE is a former NXT Champion. The hit rate on those guys becoming true WWE stars is bad; it's arguably just Seth and Big E with Owens, Balor, Drew as borderlines. And looking it up, that probably extends to the NXT Women and Tag champs as well.

He has audience participation on his side. Whether Vince will be is a different matter. Can almost guarantee they'll come up with a name change though which will ruin the participation or will write up he's announcer Cole's son or some shit since they don't seem to like shared names.

So we get the return of Becky Lynch, a slam-dunk feel good moment, and all I'm thinking about is how WWE continued to push the Bianca-Sasha match all the way until it didn't happen AND how they then had Bianca, the best thing they had going in the women's division this year, lose the title in 2 moves.

Yeah, they can spin how Bianca wasn't prepared or inexperienced but they could still go with that after having a 6 minute match. Especially since the mics picked up Becky saying 'Let's blow the roof off this joint', which I suppose they did but in a really bad way.

Cynical me thinks THIS Becky move is a reaction to Punk's return, because it was almost a certainty she'd return at some point.

In a similar light, Brock is back and looking at Roman, again. I acknowledge that it's a bit different now because of Heyman's position, but we've had this match like 5 times already. So to me it reeks of trying to move tickets since Cena/Goldberg have been cleared out. And there's that next Saudi show...

And Charlotte is champion again, thus making the last month a total fucking waste of time for that title. Nikki is probably going to just be scooted aside and Rhea gets more cracks at it, which isn't terrible if it wasn't repetitive and had an aura of Charlotte winning every time to it.

I loved the Becky return being a Becky Lynch fan and loved the pop but the match squash was not needed

So, what has happened to Sasha Banks? Either she's injured, has Covid (that would be ironic since she's anti-vax), or did she get pissed when told of the plan and just left similar to when she and Bailey dropped the tag titles. Also interesting that the last time they buried a title holder was with Kofi Kingston. I wonder what's common there. No matter what they did a massive amount of false advertising.

With Lesnar and Reigns. Lesnar needs Heyman to do promos, Reigns doesn't so you can see how that will be scripted.

Hated what they did to Nikki Cross. The whole gimmick was stupid but now they have probably ruined her and she'll be back on Main Event soon.

And, Goldberg has I believe 2 more matches on his contract. So, sadly he'll be around for a little bit more.

Oldborg looked more horrendous than usual. It's like he didn't even train. If he dropped dead tomorrow we'd all forgive him but since he probably won't he can fuck off.

I was thinking with all the title changes, "celebs" and comebacks at SS they're trying to somewhat eradicate the Punk news stream hype by providing as much hype from their show as possible. Felt desperate. I was really getting into Bianca, what, she gonna turn heel now? Fuck that.

Maybe Sasha was told they wanted to make it a triple threat and hated the idea as they are typically more challenging or thought Becky didn't deserve to take a dump on their rivalry. Becky did not have to be inserted. Match was already anticipated. Sasha's smart, she knows when she's getting played and won't take none of their bow tied shit presumably. If she got ill then fair enough. Obviously they won't tell ya that though because others may have it too, so fuck those protocols pal, got some wrasslin' to get to.

Brock is back for Saudie, that's pretty obvious. He gets like ten million bucks for one fifteen minute match. Same with Borg, hence the end of his match, so they got a reason to do one at Crown Super whatever.

I watched the last two matches (for free on USTVGO). The Cena/Reigns match was so-so... I've never been crazy about Reigns, and he's way overdoing it as a heel. But the Goldberg/Lashley match was a clusterfuck; it could be a Botchamania video by itself. Especially Goldberg... was blown up five minutes in.

And now comes word that Becky Lynch is going to be the lead heel of the Smackdown women's division... great booking, guys. Take the Summer Slam face pop and make (arguably) the most popular female face in the WWE a heel. Didn't work out so well with Bayley, did it?

And you wonder why their ratings are shit.

P.S. - For my money, the CM Punk debut on AEW beat anything the WWE did this weekend. IMO, a bigger pop than Flair's return to WCW in Greenville in '98.

P.P.S. - If Nick Khan is so obsessed about cutting expenses in the WWE, then why the fuck did they bring back Lesnar? Assuming his contract is the same or at least similar as it was before (twice as much as the #2 salaried talent, and only has to work a few matches), there's no way he can drive enough buy rates to justify his bloated salary.

Moody Reigns, takes five hours to walk to the ring, he's seriously giving Taker a run for it, trying to be mafioso, but wears casual gym like wear all the time. I get it to an extent but needs improving.

Becky as a heel? Who reported that and what are they smoking?

Brock came back because Saudie King money. They personally asked for him because the newer stars don't cut it so they roll over for them no problem. I wouldn't be surprised if he's paying for him to do these appearances in the USA too.

NXT cuts aren't budget, it's fuck off, you're stale or old or both and we're getting ex footballers and failed gymnasts in our PC instead. The Indie guys probably will now go straight to Raw, SD or another company. Basically NXT failed to do it's job on USA network so we'll put them straight on Raw/SD like they could have been anyway. Teach them some wwe shit in the PC first. I'm actually intrigued to see a bunch of car wreck matches with green wrestlers. It'll be like that Oldborg match every week except hopefully funnier.

There's no way Lynch will be a heel. They tried it already and it failed badly. Lynch even mentioned it in her speech before leaving. I suppose with the WWE they may try again but won't work. Some people you can't change how an audience feels about them. Just like Cena will never be a heel (and they tried that before also).
