Trying to help a friend
My friend has a Windows 10 machine and he's not receiving normal updates. I'm not well versed in W10 so, here's his problem in his own words.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well ... this can be a complicated problem. When Win10 did the same thing to me, it shut off the update service. Your friend should start there and start the service, reboot and see if that solves it. If not, you're going to be stuck going down the rabbit hole.
BTW, I believe that if you call a Windows Store, they will send you to a tech rep who may be able to help. I don't know if there is a cost associated with it. |

Did he pause W10 updates? Check on the advanced options, also what version of W10 he has, pro or home?

I love how everyone obsessed over windows 10 and it has problem after problem after problem from the updates to the lack of start menu and security. So glad i have my windows 7 and my 2nd Tuesday of every month updates

First, try to clean the windows , see here:
http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-in-windows-10 After that check the integrity of system files , see here: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...m-file-checker After that, give a restart and try to update, if still not working, write here. |
