Every time i visit PS, I get warnings from various software about PS still using http instead of https, any word on when PS will be moving to secure connections?

Also, I get 3 separate warnings about beacon requests, trackers and a redirect when I first load. I realize yahoo.apis will be the beacon, the redirect will be the pop-upp I have blocked with a greasemonkey script and adblock, but whats the redirect? Probably from the pop-up that gets blocked automatically. I agree, I'm a web security nut. On the other hand, I have virtually no annoyances on the web and never see 95% of things people talk about. Hell, I had to visit YT on my phone to see it had ads. I never see any of that crap on my regualr systems or tablets running roms.

ssl is a good tool to go with your online protection set up, but it's only 1 piece of the many you need, it would make other bits more useful if ssl/https was used, but only as PART of the securty setup. my newest project is building a raspberry pi openvpn server i can carry with me in the truck to access the vpn i use at home. ssl connections while im browsing the web just add another layer.

Just typing https in the address of a website doesn't magically transform it into a secure site: it is the site itself that needs to make the necessary changes...
