4 captcha services appear in JDownloader 2 captchas window (Settings/Captchas). They are
My.Jdownloader (sends captchas to your mobile or other internet devices), and 3 captcha exchange servers: 9kw.eu, DeathByCaptcha, CaptchaBrotherhood. |

Jdownloader Free-User Issues (all hosters)
Hey folks,
this is getting frustrating. No matter with which hoster, whenever I use Jdownloader to download as a non-premium user the download will most likely stop sooner or later. Sometimes it'll just stop, other times I get error messages like: "Idle-No permission to write on hd" or "plugin error - out of date" or something like that. The Jd forum staff blame the hosters. The download will work fine using my browsers dl manager and all my premium user stuff works just fine. This is frustrating, especially if the dl has to start from scratch with no guarantee that it will finish properly. Odd enough, sometimes I will be allowed to continue from where it stopped, I thought that was a privilege for premium users?! Does anybody have similar problems and perhaps found a solution? Thanks in advance!

Which JD do you use? JD 0.9.xx or JD nightly or JD2 beta?
You should use JD2 as it is the actual one and will be updated mostly every day. |

I'm using Version 0.9.581. I thought JD2 is still in beta mode.

No ideas anyone? This seems to be a common problem. I find a lot in the internet about this, just nothing helpful. Someone with more experience here ought to have some advice.

if you insist not to work with the Beta then make sure to have always the latest Java version. I work with the Beta on the PC (no issues) and the 0.9.xx version on the laptop (occasionally plugin errors). Great software and it is not a surprise that the hosters hate it. |

Okay, thanks. If you fellas swear up and down that the beta version is solid,
I'll give it a shot. I am under the impression that there are problems with bugs etc if they still haven't decided to let the beta version go regular and that beta versions were for the more tech-savy-than-me-crowd. As I said, I'll try it out these days. I have a question regarding IDM. Is it also Java based like JD or not? JD gets the job done fine mostly, but actually I don't like the way it handles. I wish it were more like utorrent. Any impressions on IDM? In general and as compared to JD? Thanks! Quote:

Jdownloader High usage of CPU
Have anyone here had this problem?
I am having this problem for the past few days, was looking on internet for a solution, but didnt found anything. The consumption is rly high! around 39% and the main issue is the lag, barely can move the mouse, the screen almost freezes some times! Anyone know how to fix it?

Never had this problem with JDownloader. Maybe try uninstalling and then reinstalling. Just a shot in the dark but maybe worth a try.

So many things that it could be, that I'll just name a few.
Pad may be right that unistalling/re-installing might do the trick. Make sure to check your program folders and delete the old folder before re-installing (I'd even reboot the computer first before install). Have you updated your Java lately..? Antique java doesn't work well with newer versions of JD. What version of JD are you running..? One or two..? The JD 2 Beta is currently available at their forum, though it's been out so long, they really should stop calling it a beta even if it still says this on the download page... Quote:
Code:
http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=37365 Code:
http://jdownloader.org/download/offline though I do occasionally update JD1 and I keep that primarily as a backup. Not to be insulting, but is your computer and older one with lower RAM, and a older CPU..? It could be that as the program is maturing, it's too hard on your specs. Or see if your firewall and/or AV stuff is potentially blocking portions of the program. Last but not least, look around on the forum at the first link I sent. It's nothing but JD stuff and probably someone else has had the same problem, if not start a new thread and i'm sure someone can help you. Search/look around first or staff may give you some grief if you asking about a problem answered multiple times. |
