Great vintage performance by Cotto! I think training with Roach is going to add years to his boxing career.

Cotto looked good. There is talk of him facing Sergio Martinez next. That would be a good fight.
Wladimir Klitschko might have won handily but that was a sickening display. Wrestling, clinching and mauling constantly whenever Povetkin got near him. It got the job done for him, but I doubt it won him many fans. |

Wow, I was way the hell wrong with my Povetkin prediction...
But I agree, that fight was atrocious. It took a lot for me to even pay attention to the fight. Blame it on the referee, I guess. It took him till the 11th round or so to finally deduct a point from Klitschko for his ridiculous leaning... And yes, it's great for see the aggressive, body-punching Cotto back again. I would like to see him fight Canelo Alvarez, but due to the HBO-Showtime/Top Rank-Golden Boy rivalry, it's unlikely to happen. But a fight with Sergio Martinez would be great. Question is, will Martinez's knees give up on him again? This Saturday, Timothy Bradley is fighting Juan Manuel Marquez. I think this truly is a pick-'em fight. I have no idea who will win, let alone how this fight will play out. Even though 99% of the people on the planet Earth (myself included) thought that Manny Pacquiao beat Timothy Bradley, I thought Bradley handled himself quite well. So against a counter-puncher like Marquez, how will Bradley conduct himself? And will Marquez become the agressor in this fight? |

I'm looking forward to that one too. I can see Alvarado managing to stay on the outside long enough to secure a decision, but I can also see Provodnikov dragging Alvarado into his phone booth and slugging him out.
Should be a good one. |

Yes indeed! Brutal and pretty hard to watch towards the end. Gatti/Ward Legendary Nights was great. Teared up a few times...RIP Gatti.

I haven't watched that yet. I'm going to look for it now.
Gatti was my favorite fighter. |
