Anyway, found the answer, two of the updates have 'issues' which screw up your account credentials- Microsoft claims it's something to do with how you got your Win 10/Updates but mine was OEM installed with my PC and all my updates have been automatic since it was installed.


My current solution appears to be.

Find a restore point, even though Win 10 says I don't have that option.
Restore system to previous point in time.
Install Windows updates up to the point before this week's 2.
Install anything else that should be updated.

Delay updates for the Maximum 35 days, in hope Microsoft fix it:

Yeah, I'm on 20H2 but I don't have the new widget "news and interest" because at the time, I didn't install the optional update that include it. But now with the latest update, specifically KB5003637 it's installed for all users you like it or not, so I was asking if there was a way to avoid it, although I see that I will have no choice but to install that shit if I don't want to leave the computer unprotected and hide the widget by modifying the windows registry.

Another proof that no one using the actual Microsoft O.S. has total control over their own files and settings. Simply their users are guinea pigs in the microsoft hands and if they ever want to lock, delete or change your files or settings, they do it at will, at has already happened on more than one occasion.

and so on and so forth every time a new update comes out, but instead of fixing it and worrying about polishing and improving the O.S, they only dedicate to include crap like the new weather widget in the taskbar without asking your permission to install it or at least giving you the option to choose. Things that nobody has asked for and that are installed whether you want them or not.

How I miss the w95, w98 and w7 old times...

I've had similar display issues. After some time of using my PC, my taskbar gets large and goes off the screen. Essentially chopping off my clock/calendar, some (or all) of the ashtray and my action center. I was going to blame it on the fact that I use DisplayFusion and multiple monitors (with different monitor profiles) but maybe it's W10.

I read Gwynd's issues and delayed the update for 7 days, but Windows decided it would update my PC anyway. My computer was running just fine before this bullshit. Leave it to Micropenis to fuck shit up.

All computers are a pain in the ass. My mother updated her Mac OS. Her printer (that she loved) would not work with the new OS. 3 Printers later and she has a printer that she likes again and that works. My brother who was a devout Apple cultist, has started hating some "upgrades" and decisions made by the company he once loved.

For those having memory problems, I suggest removing Microsoft Teams as well as, according to this article, it seems to cause a lot of slowdowns as well:

At least if you're with just 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, you should be able to run Win10 just fine, with no "hiccups" whatsoever. Even though I would've definitely preferred if MS gave out these "things" as optionals, as they did with the Microsoft Live package, and not including them by default into the OS.

A couple days ago, MS snuck in a couple updates, including a general cumulative update for 20H2 (NOT the big 21H1 update), and is coercing me to do a restart, but with all this doom and gloom, I'm deathly afraid to do the restart.

No issues whatsoever with the installation, but seeing what a couple of you went through...

I did nothing out of the ordinary. My TV is my main monitor. I switched my TV to a different HDMI port so I could play Xbox. Came back after an hour or so and all the shit (quoted above) is not visible. Like I said before, this seems to happen after my PC has been running for a short while.

Changing my main display's settings down to 1080 and scaling UI does nothing to help. All it does is make Nvidia freak out and send me tons of notifications saying that I could be running a higher 4K resolution. No shit Sherlock.

I hope Micropenis fixes these issues soon. I use the snipping tool quite a bit. Do I have to restart my PC every time I want to use it? For fuck's sake.

That happens when a company decides to turn everything into proprietary.
I'm not saying that Apple wasn't all proprietary even years ago (I used Apple for nearly 20 years, along MS), but still. When it was still just OS X 10.4 or 10.6, there was enough room for 3rd party softwares, plugins, and hardware.
Nowadays it's all about M1 chips and getting everything soldered so you can't update/swap the RAM or HDD/SSD or battery.

The latest solid and complete OS Apple put out was OS X 10.6.8. Anything that came after that was a complete disaster.
