Hello everyone -

I joined Putr! C!nta's website and would like to save the videos posted there. However, not all are downloadable. I have screen capture software but the problem is (see attached photo) when the video is played only half the video is visible. The top banner doesn't disappear and so recording the whole video isn't possible.

I have tried lowering the screen size - but that doesn't work - because the banner remains. I also tried to right-click on the screen to maybe just inspect the page and possibly isolate just the player - but that function has been disabled. I can play it in picture-in-picture mode - but it's just too small and poor quality.

Any suggestions to solve this problem?

When they disable mouse right-click they often forget the other ways

Instead of right click try using the browser's tool menu (press <alt>

)

... or use the menu key to bring up what the right click should have

Every browser today has a way to check the source files for any webpage. Once you open the source file and find the URL for the video there are numerous ways to download it; one of which, depending on your browser, will always work.

i think there are some type of flash files that are streamed in chunks or blobs that are difficult to download, fwiw

This might be silly, but have you tried a browser extension, like Chrome's "Video Downloader Professional"?

Also, sometimes, you can copy and paste the link from the page's header into a downloader, like JDownloader, and have it crawl for available links.

And, though this may not work anymore (I haven't tried it in a long time), if you watched a video in its entirety, you could go into your Windows Temp files and find the video there.

This! Sort files by size and you may have to rename & fix extension

Try CTRL-U View the WSIWYG and get the player URL directly.
Then your screen capture should work fine.

Try this:
1. Open Google Chrome Developer Tools (Ctrl+Shift+I).
2. Click on the Network tab
3. Now reload the page and hit the play button on the video you want to save
4. Watch the Developer Tools Panel. See if you can find an mp4 file, or an m3u8 file or any file that has a suggestive name (e.g., something beginning with "videoplayback").
5. Click on that file to show the request URL.
6. Now copy that URL and use a program such as VLC or FFMpeg to download the video.

if your using a screen recorder check your display settings and make sure scale and layout is set to 100% if its 125 everything you record will be zoomed in
