pls clarify the rules again. i just posted a vimeo link, live, only to have the embed fail. and then get coded out by a mod. i thought youtube and vimeo were the 2 ALLOWED ones?!

moreover, i get the basic idea of not wanting a hot link to another site, but isn't an EMBED that as well? if i post a LINK to youtube or anywhere else, how is that more dangerous than the youtube playing IN the thread...esp since the embed serves as a hot link back to youtube to boot!

still not getting that.

meanwhile, i still don't understand why it's youtube and vimeo allowed but not
dailymotion. should be all 3 or none, imho. 2 out of 3 is just...strange.

for NON video links, what exactly is the rule? i thought IMDB, IAFD, wiki and news sources were all fair game, but even THESE get coded out by mods sometimes. the distinction between "not allowed unless coded" vs "not allowed ever" is not at all clear.

Streaming videos are only allowed in the discussion sections.

These are the rules for the discussion sections (except Entertainment Discussion, see below):

We do not allow "blind" YouTube links for the same reason we do not allow "blind" image links. Images and videos must be visible so no one — especially the section mods — has to click on them to see what they are.

Any other URL to a page off of Planetsuzy.org must be in code tags, for example:

URL's for pornsites, social media, and filehosts are "not allowed ever" in the discussion sections, except filehost links are allowed in this thread:

Other URL's are allowed at the staff's discretion. Generally, URL's to Wikipedia and websites with established an established offline presence (eg. the BBC broadcasts television, the New York Post prints newspapers, etc.) are allowed as long as they aren't to political editorials.

Entertainment Discussion has a separate rule:

04b. Do not post links to websites, blogs or other forums except IMDB, Wikipedia, youtube, dailymotion, IAFD.

So that section allows dailymotion, but prohibits links to adult databases.
