1: I can't get Zippyshare to work full stop, not 'oh it only works slightly' - the pages do not load ever - open in browser? Nope. Copy into JD2? - Nope.


2: Krakenfiles isn't a permitted file host, if you want to raise it as a possible future filehost, post about it here:

i quote a post if it isn't the last one up. no one ever has to "guess" with me.

to quote what someone has JUST SAID TO U is ridiculous. that is clearly not the point of the rule. comedians make fun of ppl who do that in the real world. not to mention it's discriminatory towards anyone on dialup, who have to suffer thru all the wasted space (load times).

In the ID thread it doesn't matter if its the post immediately before yours, you should quote it - posts regularly get removed/edited - so what happens if you answer the post 'immediately before yours' then it's no longer there?


What if, as one member is want to do, they then come back and edit out their content, replacing it with 'thnx'

We don't tell people to 'quote the post' for the fun of it, we tell you you should do it because things change, and at least if you've 'quoted' the post you're answering, the content is only likely to change if:

The image dies.
You edit your post.
A mod edits your post.

I've been a mod in the ID threads for 10 years, none of the rules in that thread were created for 'the hell of it' - they were created to deal with things as and when we found ' problems.'

I'd never claim to be 'sole authority' for what the purpose of the various 'site rules' are, however, where it comes to the ID Threads, I've been involved long enough to have a reasonably good idea.

oh, no, i know that -- i do, in fact, quote immediately preceding posts IN ID THREADS on the extremely rare occasion (maybe twice?) i have any knowledge to share there. and i've never questioned that rule. (i question it on GD where 5 people in a row repost the same lengthy news article every time they add a one-line comment)

but again, that all seems moot if we're allowed to just post "see PM for secret answer" to begin with. SynchroDub, Fallon and others have convinced me it is inefficient to post anything in the actual threads.

Use a proxy site like Kproxy or Proxysite or you can use a free vpn like Proton VPN

If you really wanted to use Zippyshare you would find a way to use it I guess you do like it because it does not pay

I don't like it because even with 2 paid VPNs to chose from on my PC, the links don't work for me, they are being blocked somewhere else, even copying the text into JD2 doesn't work.

I've never, ever, ever, uploaded content here, whether a site pays or not has no bearing on my preference for them, in fact, Zippyshare, being free should be one of my favourites.

In my opinion, the criteria for selecting approved filehosts for inclusion in the 'allowed filehosts' list should be solely based on the following factors:

• Near universal availability to all, without having to resort to proxies (unless one happens to live in places such as North Korea, People's Republic of China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc).
  
• All links to content on any proposed approved filehost must be available to free, unregistered users, without unreasonable throttling, and without absurdly hard to use CATCHPAs.
  
• Performance of all approved filehosts to be subject to regular review by a board of Staff members specifically designated for the task.
