How to trim MKV files?
I'm on a Mac and I'd like to trim a few MKV files. What's the best way to do that? Typically I would trim a video file on Quicktime, but it doesn't work on MKV.

Avidemux
I love Avidemux and it is cross platform. I have used it on Windows and Linux and there is a version for Mac.

Use Mpeg Streamclip, which can also convert the file to another format, such as MP4.

Handbrake, change chapters to seconds.
Also Handbrake was developed with Macs in mind. |

MkvToolnix is a proper MkV trimmer. It also allows splitting by timeframe or timecodes. You can also add audio and subtitle layers.
