The 'Summer of Love' (1967) was the start of my musical appreciation.
I'd saved up my wages from my paper round, bought the world's best ever debut album and rushed home to play it on my Dad's stereogram. Track 1, side 1 blasted out: |

Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
I was'nt alowed to listen to this kind of music at home at 12 year old, so when I could buy the vinyl I played it loud when I was 18 (lol) |

Thanks to satellite radio, I switch from classic jazz, to the 50's, 60's, Beatles station, MoTown, and sometimes the Elvis station.
We had a good "oldies" station going, but then their oldies started to include music from the 80's, and I gave up on them. Took me a bit to realize that the 80's are as far in the past as the 50's were when I listened to "oldies" then. This one will always get to me: |

Back to the 60s again.
In the early 70s I needed extra cash to buy my dream motorcycle (of which more later) and started doing some evening bar work. I worked in a very civilised place where lots of conversations would be going on. At 'chucking out' time it could be one heck of a job to get the regulars to finish their debates and leave so I could lock up and go home. This very aptly titled track soon got them out - Messrs Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham at full throttle and with the volume turned up to 11 Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown |
