I believe ESD is for Windows, not Mac OS.

He was probably referring to the name of the .dmg file he downloaded off of the App Store, which is usually named "InstallESD.dmg".

Anyway, @Angelcuco, what version of OS X you're trying to install? And what type of media do you want to create (DVD, USB-Thumbdrive.....)?
If you wanna create a USB Bootable Thumbdrive, you can follow these easy steps:

1)Download Disk Creator (get it from here:

http://macdaddy.io/install-disk-creator/

)

2)Insert your USB Thumbdrive (obviously)

3)Open Disk Creator and click the “Select the OS X Installer” button

4)Find the installer file. This is always located in the "Applications" folder (the one with your username).

5)Select your USB Thumbdrive from the drop-down menu and click “Create Installer”

After that, turn off your Mac. Boot it up and, with the USB Thumbdrive attached, hold down the Option key.
