Where did the control go?
There are some programs on my computer that when I run it, it will give me a pop up box saying XYZ program wants to make changes on your computer or wants to install update on your computer, allow or deny/yes or no?

Then at the bottom of the pop up box there is a link for settings and on the settings page there is a slider that you can change from never ask to always ask or something like that. Now it doesn't do it anymore. I looked in the control panel under several icons including administrative tools and can't find it. I rather it asks me every time so things don't get installed or updated or downloaded without my permission. Running Windows 7 Professional. Thanks. |

It sounds to me like you are talking about User Account Control.
