Does anyone know of any good and possibly free software for the removal of "logos" and other garbage that is added to videos that wasn't there when the video was produced? Some of them work, but they leave a smear spot where the logo was.

It's almost impossible to remove a DOG (Digital Onscreen Graphic) or watermark hard encoded onto video without leaving some kind of a smudge.

You could try this technique with VirtualDub but it will leave a smear - and you'll be restricted to .avi output.

You can achieve a similar effect with higher end video editing software like Sony Vegas by placing a gaussian blur mask over the unwanted graphic - but again you'll have a smudge effect.

Best solution is to try and find the content in it's original form.

Really do the job easily but leave a smudge/blur effect on the video. Thanks for this anyway.

I work with photoshop, yes, you need average knowledge about photoshop and a lot of time, usually I don't take jobs that want this, too much hassle, but it is about amount of money you want to spend, it is a manually work...
