question regarding a keyboard,
Hey, so i have a relatively easy question, just want some feedback, im currently using a Logitech keyboard, its about 3 years old and its sticking alot and not quite what it was, so im looking to replace it, Yes an olschool, corded keyboard haha. In my town a store recently opened called Big Lots, its sorta a discount store but they do sell name brands, they sell a brand of keyboards called IHome, they also carry mouses and mousepads of that brand, the keyboard is 9.99$ so im not really worried about overpaying, my question is the brand, i have never bought a Ihome brand anything, and im assuming its more a knockoff brand of like Logitech, and like i said its not a money issue, a new Logitech keyboard is actually 7.99$ so the other brand is more expensive, So if anyone uses a Ihome corded keyboarded, thats a usb plugin as every other device, can tell me their experiences with the keyboard, are they keys ok, do they stick etc, id greatly appreciate it! thanks in advance

*(As I live in a decently large metro area, we have two Big Lots, two Ollie's, four Five Belows, three Best Buys, an As Seen On TV, etc.)
I can't speak specifically to their keyboards, as I've purchased more of their products geared towards mobile technology (chargers, bluetooth headsets, etc.), but generally I've found iHome products to work okay; certainly nothing that's not worked as it should. If you're looking for low cost keyboards, don't overlook such places as Five Below* and (if you live near a large mall) As Seen On TV*. I've seen keyboards in both stores recently, the Five Below being (duh) $5 and the ASOT (I think) $19.95, but it has large yellow keys against a black background, presumable making typing easier. If you have a few extra bucks lying around, a portable keyboard (one made of silicone that rolls up) might be a worthwhile option, especially if using a laptop. Another option, if you're waffling on brand names, would be to check out computer repair stores... they're likely to have extra keyboards kicking around, some actually on dislplay for sale. |

Thanks, sry i should have included its a desktop, dell dimension windows 7 home
ya i was driving one day and saw big lots, like i said we just got it, i think my towns trying to seem modern lol. They sell tons of furniture, saw people walking out with mattresses and box springs left and right. I dont have Ollie's or anything else you mentioned, i have target walgreens walmart and big lots. I most likely have other stores i just haven't seen yet, I'll most likely get the iHome 10$ one, worst that happens is i get it home, it sticks, i return it to get a Logitech at walmart, just assumed get a different brand and i might get longer out of it. |

Big Lots sells a lot of overstock and discontinued products. iHome is a brand you can find in all kinds of stores, Target, Walmart, Kohls, etc. I have used a few of their products and it was hit or miss. A set of bluetooth headphones for cheap to be used by the kids were junk. A clock radio/ipod dock worked really well. For the price I would take a shot, although they probably aren't any better or worse than Logitech. At such a low price point, I wouldn't go too far out of your way to get one. You may end up spending more in gas than the keyboard itself.

Rule number one i would never pay 19.99$ or above for a computer keyboard, as you said i would spend more on gas to get to the store. Plus 99% of them are wireless which im not looking for, the ones with a wire are significally cheaper

Electronics can get wet if they are then completely dried out before using. It is the water present at the same time as the electricity that causes shorts. I realize anecdotes are not evidence, but I have had several things, including phones and a Wii, that have become soaked and worked fine when dried out before using again.
