Windows 10 version 20H2
Okay, so Tuesday/Wednesday (yes, it took about 16 hours) I did the inevitable upgrade from Windows 10 version 1909 to version 20H2, including about 10 additional Windows updates and half a dozen restarts... almost bricked my laptop in the process.
So, can anyone tell me what's so new/different/good about the new version in a nutshell? One big one (quite good) is that the system updates now update drivers as well. Thank you in advance. |

I upgraded on the 17th. Took about an hour. Can't tell the difference. It's still the same shitty OS. Except for security, I would still be running Win2k or Win7.

I'm digging the driver download feature. Kinda surprised MS didn't integrate that before. Maybe now I can get rid of my IObit driver updater.
Usually when you get a significant OS upgrade, you get a tutorial, which takes you through all the new features, but I didn't see it with this, so I was trying to figure out what I'm missing here. |

Just a quick question, may i ask what made you get 20h2 now? i think it took so long to download because you waited so long to get it i just checked my specifications and i upgraded to that on 8/14/2020. Maybe your system wasnt able till now? Im only guessing thats why it took so long, were you not offered it untill now? Also after i got it, absolutely nothing improved or changed, i was personally hoping it would of changed windows updates for windows 10 home users, but no such luck, they are still slow and very annoying with bugs.

Regarding your situation, you must be one of the lucky ones; accordin to sources, MS started rolling out 20H2 in October 2020. |

ah gotcha, i actually wasnt offered it right away, if memory serves me, it came out last june i wanna say and i wasnt able to get it untill August, like you said, rollout was slow till everything was compatible, took the standard hour or so to fully go through, maybe more, no major crashes or anything stalling, Also from what i read another windows 10 'spring' update is coming, from what i gather it will be in May, everything i read says the first half of 2021 spring update' then most likely the 2nd one towards winter.

I hope the next update prioritizes windows 10 Home, we really get the short end of the stick since were not paying for the version. Dont me wrong, im glad i was able to upgraded to windows 10 , 100% free, i just didnt realize this was probaly the worst version

I just upgraded an older Dell PC (2015 Model) with 8.1 on it with the free upgrade from Microsoft . It installed the Windows 10 Home 20H2, looks the same as W10, no problems in Device Manager.

I gotta hand it to Microsoft, its great they are STILL letting anyone upgrade to windows 10 completely free, i honestly thought by now that offer would be long gone.
