Film and Television "Goofs"
There are few things more frustrating on screen then blunders in flow of a storyline. They are affectionately called "goofs", but in actuality are just laziness or poor management. That said, producers, writers, and directors will at time leave or put them in purposely to start a dialogue and/or gain interest before a premiere... people are curious by nature and want to see what the fuss is about.

I've always believed in the importance of continuity and after shouting it from the rooftops for years, we were finally given a chance to "put our money where our mouth is" on Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson, coming out May 07th 2021. We did some of the CGI continuity for ILM who bought us late last year. Fyi, we left in 2 huge blunders purposely but were diligent in the other 174 shots. I will start slowly with a couple films I just finished watching. In Mortal Instruments, after the "Institute" explodes and it's snowing into the building where Lena Headley is in coma on the sofa, the snow isn't melting in front of the fireplace... In The Adjustment Bureau when Matt and Emily go through a door while racing to see the chairman, she isn't touching him but is still able to follow him through the door... Post examples that bug you or make you laugh. |

I know Starbucks has been around for a long time but I don't think they had them yet in the 3rd century or even the 15th??? Notice the coffee cup in the lower right in Game of Thrones.
Great show btw, finally binged it a couple weeks ago. Love Emilia Clarke During the truck motorcycle chase in T2 the truck loses its windshield after running off the Bridge and in the next scene its back in. That's just poor editing period!!! During a fight scene in Gladiator there is a jet in the distant sky... In The Usual Suspects there is a 4 engine jet coming in for a landing and on the rear shot it only has 2 engines. In T3 the Cessna has a different call number in flight than it does on landing... |

The Little Things
So I just watched this movie the other day. Those of us old enough to remember automatic transmissions on the steering column will laugh at the 21-ish minute mark. The main character can been seen driving his old Chevy/GMC Blazer (same thing) in park. That's right, the gear knob was all the way at the top, meaning it's in park. Obviously being towed on a trailer. It can be, "The Little Things" that take you out of a movie. I won't spoil it, but if you watch the movie you'll understand my reference.
Overall, unless you're really into crime/murder movies, give it a miss. Edit: BTW, this is something I noticed, I didn't read it or see it on the net and then repost it here.

In the famous final scenes in Aliens there is an obvious special effects "flub" involving a prosthesis.
Spoiler Warning

Worst I ever saw is the door opening in the sky in a jet fight scene in Topgun.

About the last thing one would expect to see in Lord Of The Rings is a car, but there it is top right
In Quantum Of Solice there is a guy sweeping the dock but they forgot to crop the shot and it is actually in the film him sweeping a foot off of the ground. They were trying to keep background sound and dust down. |

Another example of a film editor sleeping on the job from Gladiator (2000).

actually, it IS ben-hur. altho wiki and some other sites say "urban legend". (they mention the viking queen, glory, sparticus and cleopatra as legitimate cases, however. that's a lotta watches!!)
greatest goof in cinema history has to be the title "Krakatoa, East of Java". krakatoa is west of java. D'OH! |
