It makes perfect sense.

Times changed rapidly and profoundly over the last decade.
Not so long ago, there were many more boards like PS. And where are these now?
Answer: in decay and/or gone.
Reason: not because the adult business collapsed, but the number of "illegal" copies grew.
"Illegal": if you download a set here, you didn't download it from the XXX-site itself which owns the set, and thus you didn't pay $$.
Ergo: a list of XXX-sites on this board from which you may not upload.

And the XXX-sites themselves know this too. And they will not follow the downloaders, but the uploaders.

So the uploaders set a password to their files, just in order to make it a bit more difficult for the XXX-sites to find the "illegal" copies.

It looks like some sites have automation to monitor and report files in some threads, I've seen material regularly taken down within days on some threads. People keep posting and keep getting reported.
A thread could have been up for years and if the site discovers it and runs some script to report all the links, then most could be gone in days.
The link protector sites appear to defeat the automation.
This kind of reporting makes some big pornstars awkward to collect and is the why some people are spelling pornstar names strangely, like 5@ndr@ 5h1n3 for instance, making it very awkward to search for threads because you don't know which mis-spelling convention each site is using.

I know a Uploader who puts his own Watermark in Videos and also has Videos that dont have the Original File Size, probably because he compressed the file size for some reason. My question is is it legal in this forum? I think its incredibly selfish to upload a video that is not really yours and putting your own Watermark on it. It is also really stupid to temper with the Video File Size because it worsens the Quality of the Video. The uploader also puts the word new!!! in every one of his posts and some have the wrong date which for a uploader who has been uploading for many years is stupid af.
