Suddenly can't access a torrent website

I tried a VPN extension (Urban VPN) to my browser and it worked! I don't know how much info the VPN can access so I tried it on a new install of Firefox and didn't sign in. The website loaded and I can download files from it. It's a little slower, but not unbearable. I don't use Firefox so I may just stay signed out and use it just for that website. I tried Opera browser which has a built in VPN and that didn't work so I don't know why this worked. Does this definitely mean my ISP was blocking the website? I don't get it, it's not like I use a ton of bandwidth. More than a regular person, yes, but not downloading/seeding 24/7 or anything. Thanks everyone for the tips and advice along the way, I appreciate the help. Still sucks I have to do it this way.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. I am wary of it because it says it's required to;

- Access your data for all websites
- Access browser tabs
- Access browser activity during navigation

I plan to only use it on Firefox not signed in, for that torrent website only, nothing else. The only info I type in there are AV title codes, nothing personal. I use Chrome for my default browser anyways.

I found something weird out today. I previously said that when using Opera browser and it's built in VPN feature the website wouldn't load. I tried again today and it worked.

If I forget to enable VPN and visit the website it won't load. If I then go enable VPN and visit it again it still won't load. I have to close the bowser, open browser, enable VPN and then visit website it'll load. Weird, and is the reason why Opera's VPN didn't work the first time.

I think I'll ditch the Firefox 'Urban VPN' extension and use Opera's built in VPN. Either way, I'll only use it for that website and nothing else.

On Firefox, I've been using the Touch VPN addon for a while now, and it works pretty well.

try to flush your dns? could be something in your cache

windows open cmd: "ipconfig /flushdns" without quotes and hit enter

I've read that when I was trying things out, but haven't tried it. I thought it wouldn't work because wouldn't that clear it for just my PC? I have the same problem where I can't reach the website on my phone if I'm connected to my home Wifi. I can reach the website on my phone though if I turn off home Wifi and use cellular data. Makes me think it's something to do with my modem/router, but you have to pay for website blocking for it and I didn't sign up for that.

Thanks for the suggestion, it has like three times more users than Urban VPN so I may give it a try. The thing I don't like about the Firefox addons are the permissions they require. I don't know if Opera's VPN is better in that area, but on their blog it says;

When you use our built-in VPN service, we do not log any information related to your browsing activity and originating network address.

No logs. No tracking. What you do online is your own business.

Either way, Opera and Firefox aren't my main browser and I don't import bookmarks or sign into either one. I plan on just using that one website on them and that's it.

i see. maybe you should reset your wifi router
