I have clinical depression and it has been a few years since I have had a really good hard erection. Even jacking off to some hot porn scene I cannot get fully hard, it is not even semi-erect.

I drift in and out of depression myself. During a bout of depression I can still get erect and all, but for me it's more like chore, wondering to myself what's the damn point? I'm still going to be in a rut. It's more frustrating when I go through jaded, recycled fantasies when masturbating. This usually lasts a few days for me before I get out of it. I try to remain in contact with family and friends just to get some 'background variety' in my life, because for me especially in later years my depression seems to stem from a 'Groundhog Day' scenario that I'm currently going through.
Is it the same for you?

Are you in good physical condition? What is your diet like? What is your sleep like? Do you work out regularly?

I had untreated sleep apnea for years. Since I went on a CPAP it has noticeably improved both my libido and my erections.

The biggest question in terms of this would be if you were on any medication for the depression. The vast majority can cause erection and/or libido problems. Some allow you to become erect but reaching orgasm can be really tough. The first med my doctor and I tried definitely caused erection problems (among several other issues) but when I switched the problem went away. As with all things, talk to a doctor. They may be able to tweak your dosage or try a different drug all together.

I am not a doctor but i realized that if you use sex or masturbation as a drug you might have problems getting fully hard.
do you masturbate when you feel horny or when you are bored or feeling down?

Are you taking pills for depression? Some of them kill your boners pretty bad, another thing is that if you have a belly it can contribute to low testosterone.

I am unfit, overweight, do not sleep well and have severe depression. Diet is not good either. Been taking medication for depression and slowly going up higher in dosage. Counselling is not for me.

Before I was taking meds, I was still having a problem getting hard. Thinking of getting some viagra from my doctor and seeing if it improves things.
