what media player or codec pack is your fav?
i used kmplayer at first, and tried mplayer, vlc ,realplayer,k-lite mega codec pack, with a 1080p vid as text,at last i chosed klmp as my media player.
it is the only one which can play 1080p vid while you can open ie normally. of course my pc is old. now klmp has upgrade to 990,pity it dont contain mpc but only mpchc,my anti-virus alarms mpchc is a malicious software,i hope the klmpc 1000 can contain mpc to chose.what is you fav player? Did you try other player first and chose your fav at last? please share with us. |

MPC-HC is my default media player cause it's simple and familiar I use it for a long time now, but I also use VLC and PotPlayer occasionally cause their flexibility in adjusting/synchronizing audio and subtitle, for music player I use foobar

I downloaded KMPlayer today, reading about it here as playing 1080p movies smoothly. Well, it didn't do for me here. It didn't on VLC, it didn't on MPC-HC with K-Lite. It didn't on CCCP either. So I'm trying to live with the fact my computer just can't take those files. The KMPlayer installation file I got from their website, was a nightmare. So many offers coming my way, of course turning them down as I don't need extraneous software, and I believe I pack light in software containment. So while my experience with KMP is short, and one I made it so due to impatience and frustration, I won't compliment it.
So with the limitations mentioned, there still is the question to be answered here. I'm going with Media Player Classic-Home Cinema, with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I've found it plays 99% of all video formats, I'm very used to its functions and interface by this point that I don't like to try anything else. I keep VLC though as a backup, as that plays some rather formats with unique encoding. For example, certain MP4 players, and this was years go, but a good example, couldn't play on MPC. So VLC to the rescue. Currently there's one pesky .MOV file where the audio codec, according to MediaInfo (part of the K-Lite installation), does not exist. So no sound in this one video, but VLC plays it just fine. So I stick with those two, with MPC as the primary video player. I've gone with it since 2008, and never dropped it from my list of programs. |

But if you comfortable with MPC/VLC and it can play everything you throw at it then probably it isn't worth the hassle, for me, I like fiddling around with new software when I'm bored, sometimes I found a great software I never heard before, and at other times I messed up my windows |
