Take multiple still pictures from a video file
I want to take multiple pictures from a video file without having to sit there, pause it, snap pic, repeat.
Kinda like a thumbnail preview of a video, only without the time stamp and a bigger size for each individual photo. Do they have a program that can do this? Thanks for any insight. |

I used Image Grabber II in the past. You can take customized snapshots for any video. And is freeware. Last version is 2.2.0.
Unfortunely development was discontinued.

I would check out the "Ekarth Bulk Video Thumbnail Tool". I think it was personally coded by someone active on one of the torrent sites.
The cool thing is, you can drag and drop like 10 movies into it, and it will spit out screens and individual thumbs for each grab (latter optional) without a hiccup. |

I want one where you can watch the video and then write down some times.
And then tell it to take a grab at those times!

I would highly recommend Video Thumbnail maker by Scorp (VTM).
It has many advanced features including batch mode. midnight has posted some links and screenshots for VTM in the posts below. http://veterperementour.ru/showpost.php?p...21&postcount=2 http://veterperementour.ru/showpost.php?p...14&postcount=4

Keep in mind that this software has problems (at least for me it did) with large video files, something along the lines of 1 gig and higher. But other than that hiccup I liked the program and you can select what pics you want to use in the advanced mode. Just load the video file and then double click it.
A couple of other issues I had with it is that it doesn't work on MKV file types and when you used the "advanced mode" it will not save the image you have to click preview then copy image then use another program such as PaintShop Pro (or other Photo Shop, etc) to save it and put in correct video information such as size, time, type...etc. But perhaps this is due to my"COPY" of said program (version 4.0.0.1) Quote:

I have an older version and I've had no problems with large files.
Here's a screenshot of my settings screen. If you select "Engine 2" in Video rendering, I think the program uses installed codec packs to render the video. This is correct. Never really noticed it as I don't use the advanced mode.
