First time downloading porn, chances of virus?
I'm really worried and paranoid about this, how can I know if a file I'm downloading might have a virus?

Hi Well, you can't be 100% sure If a file comes with a virus, it's reported (with this:) and the uploader must face consequences If you download from a well known porn uploader, then it's 99.99% chances that it's virus free http://veterperementour.ru/showthread.php?t=79059 Dan4260 is one of them |

there's many many other sources for a virus
i haven't found any video file in the last years actually containing evil things. also the pictures posted here usually dont carry any infection. so chances you get an infection just by surfing / downloading from suzy are pretty low. besides casual precautions, you shouldnt worry too much! anyway.. if you are paranoid, browse protected: or if it's too late..

A: Never trust a file from your friend even if, as stated, he's your friend. Even if your Mum sends a file don't open it unless you're 100% sure it's safe.
B: Never EVER click links that arrive in an e-mail unless you're sure that it's valid. Instead simply just go to the page and view it. DO NOT CLICK LINKS C: Make sure your browser is safe. IE9, despite what all the 16 year olds will tell you, is perfectly fine and safe. Make sure that your pop-up blocker is set to HIGH and not medium. Add a filter list to your hosts file. If you decide to change browser then please be aware that you're still not automatically safe. http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/ D: Show file extensions. By default file extensions are hidden and that naughty.jpg could really be naughty.jpg.exe E: Turn up UAC to the max. Just do it. The amount of small hassle it presents is better than a virus. F: The safest option: DO NOT run as full administrator. Macs don't so why should PCs? Create another account, for example, called security. Make sure it's an admin account and give it a nice password with a random character at the end. (Example: JamesBond007_) Change your existing account to a standard account. When you want to do something naughty you will be asked for the SECURITY account password. This way you'll instantly know when something isn't quite right. G: Malwarebytes Of course the weakest link is always between the keyboard and chair so no matter what you do you simply cannot stop stupidity. Stay safe. |

I have downloaded thousands of porn files in last 5-6 years, haven't ever come across an infected video or photo. As long as you don't download or open files like .exe, .cmd etc. there is almost zero risk. But don't use Internet Explorer to search or download porn, it's the worst and unsafe web browser ever.

You are much more likely to get a virus/trojan etc., by visiting a bad website. I've picked up a couple like that over the years, but thankfully I have always been able to get rid of them without any permanent damage. I would definetely recommend that you get a good anti virus suite (I won't say what I use 'cause that will just start a row over AV software ). Happy downloading. Edit Lastly, and most importantly, back up all your files to an external drive on a regular basis, and keep the drive disconnected from your PC while not actually backing up. That way if you do run into a real nasty you will at least keep all your data. I'm a bit paranoid about losing stuff so I run a backup to two different external drives at least once every day. |
