Internet Explorer freezing
Anyone have a solution to internet explorer not responding, I have went thru several suggestions but so far nothing seems to work. I have tried unstalling and reinstalling but still have the problem. Thanks

Best solution is always try an alternative browser to establish wether its the browser or something else

Reason: spelling
Alternative browsers Anonym zu techsupportalert.com/best-free-web-browser.htm If you do decide to have a few as standbys pays to use a software security checker like Secunia PSI so their always up to date even if you dont use them. Truth is all browsers have issues with any number of sites IE just happens to be the more proned than most Theres a page for IE (which ever version ) to try Anonym zu support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_freezes_or_crashes/en-us Just to prove the case Firefox known issues - never easy to diagnose even with everything thats running on your PC revealed Anonym zu kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_Issues |

It is difficult to give you a constructive solution with the limited information you provided. Your problem with IE freezing could range from an issue with a browser defective mouse to a virus or malware causing the problem. If you have been infected with a virus or malware it may have changed the settings for IE causing it to freeze. It would be helpful to know if the freezing problem is limited to just IE or to other browsers also; as well as how the browser freezes. (While opening the browser? When loading a webpage? When trying to scroll a webpage? When trying to navigate links on a webpage?

This may sound obvious, but if you're using an older version of IE upgrade to the latest version, I think it's 9 (I always use FF except for one job-related website I absolutely must use IE for). Otherwise, you're better off switching browsers.

Two things to try next time you experience a freeze with Internet Explorer.
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and start task manager. Check how many versions of iexplorer.exe you find under running processes. Sometimes a rogue version of internet explorer can be left running in the background which causes clashes with any correct one. End the task for each of the iexplorer.exe you find. 2. If the page you using has any flash running on it at all then this could explain the problem. The latest version of flash player has a small intermittant bug that can cause your browser to freeze (IE, Chrome or FF (more noticeable though on IE)). Do the same as above and close down the flashplayer.exe in task manager and that should fix it. There is one more thing you can try if you are okay with using task manager. Now, read all this before doing it as it can come as a shock when you follow the instructions. Go into task manager and close explorer.exe. That actually closes down your desktop so you have no icons etc. Just to explain why - explorer.exe which is your desktop is actually a hybrid internet explorer (so yes, people do still use internet explorer.. everyone that uses windows does). The on your task manager go to File, New Task (run) and type explorer.exe. That will restart your desktop (also clears up some background stuff so works as a restart without restarting your PC). Hope this helps. |

This will help, go to internet options, click on the advance tab, click on reset internet explorer, sets it back to default, restart browser and it goes back to default states that helps get rid of any pesky browser add ons which can interfere with internet explorer.
