You can try VLC media player (it plays most of the flv files). Riva flv player is another freeware flv player - this is a specialist flv player. For some flv files, even though VLC plays them, dragging won't work. Riva can help in such cases. If you install some codecs, all the normal players like Windows Media Player can also play flv files. Personally I use flv and vlc.

I am able to view .flv files with Quicktime Player and MpegStreamclip (the last one will also convert them to another format like mpeg or avi).

Realplayer is best suited for FLV files.

Just install ffdshow and then you can play most
flv, mp4,etc in any player including WMP,etc. http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/ Obviously when it asks which formats you want it to support on install flv should be checked, along with most others except possibly avi if you already have dedicated codecs like divx, xvid installed. Although actually I find the ffdshow filters play xvid, divx content just fine with less CPU utilization. Alternately, Media Player Classic is a great replacement for Microsoft's WMP which has gotten awfully bloated over the years, and has alot of the above ffdshow filters built in. http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/ It also has support for alot of neat pixel shader effects and what not, so you can add sharpening on the fly, or switch output to grayscale, etc. And its much more configurable than WMP and uses less memory. |

Or Shark Codec pack for Windows. Just be sure to chose the correct OS version.

I agree with Morgath for ffdshow. ffdshow will allow you to play flv files in all media players using directdhow filters. So you'll be able to read flv with either:
- MPC + ffdshow - GOM Player + ffdshow - Windows Media Player + ffdshow Or - VLC alone - MPC-HC alone

GOM is my fave. I think it plays every format, except Realplay & MOVs.
