I need some help ,suggestions, ideas whatnot.....Love to use MPC as a player because of all the options it affords me and untill now have not had any problems at all with it...BUT.....recently when playing movies there is no sound ???? Checked all settings everthing looks fine..So tried playing same in VLC and low and behold SOUND...Tried playing in Mediacoder...SOUND......So screwed up codecs, no problem!!! DLed new version of K-Lite along with their new MPC...Should cure the problem right??? NOT
I really , really must have my MPC but I'd like to have sound as well....duh...Any ideas as to what has happened and how I can fix this would be much appreciated If solution is given "Love you long time sailor" TheBare |

In the k-lite codec pack in your start menu, you can find a feature: "reset to recommended settings" in the configuration. Dunno if it helps but a try wouldn't harm a bit.
Hope it helps... |

Hey Bare, I guezz I could give you my solutions in french, but the other guys wouldn't understand anything ;o)
Let's begin with the "soft" solution. Open MPC, go to View > Options Under "Playback > Output", you have a "DirectShow Audio" menu. Try different settings. I don't know if the changes take effects immediatly, so whenever you change something, restart MPC. Now the "hard" solution is to reinitialize MPC: by default, the settings are in the registry, so reinstalling it doesn't change anything. Open the registry (Start > run > type "regedit"), search and delete the entries called "Gabest". |
