ts converter to mp4?
Does anyone recommend a reliable .ts file converter to mp4 ?
I currently use VLC to do conversions. But it struggles to convert some .ts files. Does anyone use a different method? |

Handbrake will do the job just fine.
It's FREE, it supports lots of video formats and it also includes presets for TVs, Android/Apple phones, Xbox, PlayStation and it does also offer lots of custom settings as well.

Most video encoders will do the job. Ask ten people and you'll get ten different recommendations.
FWIW, I use MediaCoder. |

Yes, recommendations are very different depending on the experience level in video and audio encoding. For most tasks I personally prefere ffmpeg directly on the commandline, but most people donĀ“t want to deal with this complicated black shell window of course and will prefere gui tools.
If I have to / want to convert to another format/container I usually first inspect the source with MediaInfo to find out if I have to reencode or if a simple remux does the job without quality loss. And most of the time you can just get the job done with a simple Code:
ffmpeg -i src.ts -c copy dest.mp4 |

I do it with MpegStreamclip.
But there are other ways: Code:

I do this for tons of .ts files.
Pavtube has a simple mp4 remux option and can do multiple files. Personally I use & paid for wondershare uniconverter - it has a simple and fast remux option and it can be set to merge the files also in the process. |

power director
I use Cyberlink powerdirector in part because if the .ts has been recorded from TV it will let you edit out the adds, will also let yo edit and use effects such as slow motion apply a different colour balance etc. Depends how much you want to play with the source.
Unfortunately they have just gone to a subscription service so I will stick with my old copy. |
