Best Android Browser?
Okay, so I'm growing tired of Chrome. Good as it may be, it's a resource hog, and takes up a lot of room, so I'm on the hunt for another one.
In the past, I've dabbled with the following browsers: Samsung Brave Tor DuckDuckGo Firefox Via Just downloaded Opera Mini and kicking the tires on it, but if you have a favorite you want to sell me on, have at it... thanks! |

I'm thinking I might be stuck no matter what... I like the extras that the major browsers bring to the table (tracker protection, built-in VPN, etc.), but by and large, they take up too much space on my phone. (That's why I've disabled so many built-in apps on my phone, like Google, Chrome, YouTube, 1Weather, and many more). On the other hand, a browser like Via takes up almost no room (~10 mb), but obviously doesn't have features I like/need, such as the ones noted above. I saw that Samsung's stock browser, which I had on my old G7, is (actually, has been since 2017) available for non-Samsung phones... anyone have firsthand experience with it? Edit - Scratch that... just installed it. All whopping 166 mb of it. Quickly uninstalled. This may be a stupid question, but since we're far enough removed from the Great 2018 Cheetah Master purge, does anyone admit to still having the CM Browser on their phone, and, anyone want to show courage by singing any praises of it? |

Samsung Internet Browser is excellent imo. It has dedicated video player which allows swipe controls for brightness, volume and timeline scrolling (a must have if u watch youtube/anime online). It also supports complete dark mode including webpages.
My only little gripe is that you have to install a separate app to enable adblocking. Other than that I feel its the most complete android browser. |

Brave, DuckDuckGo, Aloha Browser, Firefox Focus, Vivaldi, Ghostery, Tenta Private VPN Browser and Epic Privacy Browser. All of those browsers are privacy-focused, I take privacy seriously.

Duck Duck Go for privacy. It's better than Firefox Focus.
For full features though, I run the Samsung browser despite not using a Samsung phone. It's very good. |
