I have downloaded a multi part video and I get the message when I go to extract "Cannot open file rar as archive." Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Try to open with latest Winrar.

What is the file extension?

If it's a multipart set, do you have all of the parts?

I would get the same message when newer compression software was used to create the rar. When that occurs, I use a newer version of the expander on a newer laptop.

When the older versions are used to create the rar., I am able to expand the file on my older desktop computer with older expander software.

Either way, if it is a multi-part set, I make sure all the parts are in a single location.
